North London looking pretty unimpressive right now. DiS, report in.
Lots of little fluffy clouds.
Hope shit kicks off later today.
Even got me windows open. A gentle breeze.
Strong breeze, dark clouds, cricket fields repainted for winter rugby use, a crow feasting on the eyes innards of a dead squirrel. These are the end times.
BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES
Wind is getting up and just blew my slightly-open window WIDE open.
Got 999 on speed dial just incase
Sun's out here. Still quite windy though.
Poor old Jude. Some people got countries, he/she got lost causes.
Did want to gloat too but it looks like it might get the north eventually.
upon the trees literally rising up from their root beds and rending civilisation asunder with theit fibrous boughs of terror?
anticipating suicide trees flinging themselves through windows.
probably should get the shopping done before it all starts kicking off.
Looks a bit blowy outside.
It is now raining slightly and is quite windy
Uniform grey clouds now
it's a bit breezey out.
might shut a window.
Windy as fuck
Pretty, pretty windy. It's meant to be kicking off tonight and I'm a little nervous as my house is prone to flooding. Sandbags ready to go.
Grass still moving, afraid to leave house
Bit breezy. Sun's out, mind.
It's now belting down. Could do with nipping in to town at some point. Buttocks.
it made some noise and closed a door
Wee bit breezy and the fluffy white clouds are a bit bigger. Gonna go for a run and check out the panic buying sitch at Morrisons.
Genuinely a lovely day.
Today could be that day.
Bit windy, nice blue skies, no signs of an apocalypse.
It's alright. Although the storm isn't due to hit here so I guess it would be.
singin hey jude pmsl :p
was charming and lovely, now overcast. Wind picking up but not crazy yet.
jesus man, this storm, it's so blowy I can barely even type
windy but not that bad, still played football in it etc.
which was unlikely to happen, but happened
Update: Supermarket horrendously packed, but it's a supermarket on a Sunday afternoon, how could you tell. No fights or screaming anyhow. Wind's picking up, bike's coming in. Gonna save the run til it's full crazy out.
even though we face east. Good move Sky. Anyway, a bit blowy. It's almost like the storm isn't forecast to reach the UK until this evening, or something.
Grey and drizzly. Just moved the garden furniture indoors.
and I forgot the fresh herbs. cock.
What exactly did you expect?
sun still out here but everything is blowy
Bit of weather about. Clouds and that. Bit of a breeze. Nowt doing really.
slight drizzle, light wind
well, that sucks.
Lots of dark clouds now, wind picking up, probably gonna rain a lil bit... still too scared to go outside.
chances of survival? looks 'not bad' atm
gentle breeze, looking grey, could potentially start drizzling at any moment. have stocked up on the wadded beef just in case.
that's still Glasgow
Rain and very windy.
Just walked from Wapping to Shoreditch and back, definitely a stiff breeze, but the sun is peeking out. Not unpleasant.
Just went outside for a bit. Cloudy, cool, bit windy. S'fine though.
Cloudy now, but the wind had died.
maybe it's just because I'm in the green belt and there are loads of trees and trees always look more dramatic in the wind but it's really windy outside and there's some properly menacing clouds out there. like, windy and menacing even for this place.
Gusty in Cater ham, although my house is on an exposed bit of the valley.
Southern Railway have cancelled all trains for tomorrow morning and none will run until 9 at the earliest.
Jeez, given the storm track could still change a bit that's a bit much?
This makes getting to work insanely difficult for me. Going to have to go via central London if the Overground's working. Urgh.
If trains run late, they have to give refunds. If they cancel services completely, they don't.
Also, I guess there is a chance that with weather prediction being pretty amazing now, it could get pretty treacherous out there for those working in the dark at 4am when it's due to be at its worst.
I usually get a Southern then a SW Trains service.
Very breezy with sudden gusts. Many leaves flying in the air. Considering how to secure my wheelie bins. First world problem.
Windy, tree blown over in Hove
We have these trees in the garden that look like they're going to blow over every time it gets windy but never do, I reckon this might be their day.
First bit of heavy rain and ill be by the kitchen door scooping out water with buckets!
The wind keeps throwing my recycling all around the yard
Shit is kicking off
but then it stopped and there was a lovely rainbow moment
looking forward to opening them tomorrow morning to see nothing but a gaping abyss
Just gonna stay in bed all morning, Woking station is going to be absolute carnage.
If not....bit of a cunt thing to say, no? People will DIE tonight
Obviously brought on an hour early by our impending doom.
might go outside and see if i can do some mary poppins shit with an umbrella.
please say your goodbyes to me now in case I don't make it past tonight.
just bought some crisps, nothing airborn that shouldn't be
the gust are expected to hit 80 - 90mph
Pissing down, too. Not sure I'll be cycling to the GF tonight.
You never know, you might do an ET
I think that everyone is looking forward to hearing southerners screaming and crying about a slight change in the weather again though.
is a bit windy. Probably boarding up the whole house was an over-reaction though.
but we're only slightly north.
I get another day in That London! <3
Wind's picking up and it's been absolutely pissing it down intermittently since Saturday.
Hope it doesn't make me late for the first day of my new job tomorrow...
Obviously don't aim for that but I managed to improve my position across the week and now it's fine.
want to check none of you have been blown away yet
Hoot with me, I’d get into that.
If you know where I’m at, I would get a kick from that.
Muddy face, bloody hand. naked we dance on our clothes
So will you come with me?
I’ll take you away.
Spin with me, that is what I feel.
Open your arms. release from within.
If you know where I’m at. I would get a kick from that.
Come the dark, light a fire. in the rain we raise our heads.
So will you come with me?
I’ll blow you away.
But there has been so much 'storm news' on bbc and all tv, it can't help but be a damp squib. Will be the bird flu of storms.
that's safe, right? Not that windy at the moment. What could 80mph winds do to me, mess up my do?
It was amazing watching waves breaking over the sea wall and splashing over the duel carriageway.
conclusion - bloody windy. Faceful of sand and seawater. Will be interesting to see what the winds are like at midnight, because that's probably the roughest I've seen it already
Quite a lot of beach huts down there and general shit to fall apart on my head. But after a bottle of wine and a bit it might seem like a great idea in a few hours
Go down for a salty facefull.
you cheeky character!!11
Poor kind - but what a poor choice of a day to go swimming
Despite only having about 15 followers, and living only 200 yards from their office?
they'd rapidly be down to 14 followers.
with trevor eve
Massively windy and a lot of rain. Our lean to conservatory thingy is a but rattley. Looking forward to the onset of the storm.
There was light rain but I think it's stopped. Wind's dropped down as well. I must be in the eye of the hurricane...
Power cut earlier in the wk was more traumatic than this
the power cut was really good... i didn't realise you were in leicester (dunno who you are pal)
Was a bit freaky - all the house alarms went berserk on my street at 2am.
Felt like "end of days" with no light anywhere, deafining alarm beeps, no mobile network and no land line
i was at the library when it happened. then it got evacuated so we went to watch the guys that had been evacuated from the SU... i would agree that i felt "end of days" with all the drunk people screaming and shouting especially
This could get interesting after all
heavy rain, strong gusts.... now nothing :O
it was a bit windy and muddy but otherwise lovely. Now it just looks very peaceful. Yawn.
Nothing happening here now. Shame. We were gonna sing a song if it thundered or something.
raining a good bit, but not nearly as windy as this afternoon. meh.
nothing to report
this is boring
It's raining a bit guys. I'm scared.
Parked my car directly under a tree. Hopefully means I can get a new whip next week.
Praying for you all.
Heavy rain and gusty here, windows rattling a bit. But the storms still way off.
Great band, love Harvey
Light rain, solidly for 5 days. Fucks sake.
People staying on campus will be in for it. High hill
Windy getting very windy, very very wet
HOPE YOU ALL MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT xxx
Raining but that is normal.no wind yet
Rain is getting PRETTY SERIOUS but no wind to speak of. I'm going to bed.
Lights just went flickered, thunder incomming
RIP Me, cya guys in Heaven
Popping my head out the window has confirmed it to be both very wet and very windy
no different to the kind of weather you'd usually find on October 28th
in Manchester M4.
Earliest I can get a train to work is now 9.36am, 2 hours later than usual.
Hope my parents are okay, just read on Twitter the strongest winds are on the Isle of Wight...
WHY AM I AWAKE?
Sounds a bit blowy out. Should probably stay in bed.
just looked outside and half my neighbours' fences are down
It's certainly no Hurricane Bawbag, that's for sure.
...unplugged the router by accident is closer to the truth
Even the milkman managed to deliver the milk at 1am...feel cheated regarding "the mother of all storms"
She's done the whites with the colours and everything.
We've buried our dead. Only have a few tins of soup left.
It's raining a bit, I suppose.
The rain's off now. My hair was a bit tussled on the walk in.
might go out and catch some rays
Now have to think of some work to do.
Clear blue skies and hardly any wind. No damage to the surrounding areas. Shame.
yeah that's right i said squid
And our patio chairs are at the other end of the garden.
Our neighbour's garden looks much nicer than ours.
people seemed to have translated 'commute with care' to 'work from home workshy fucks'
but (and i could be generalising here) the rest of the network seems fine if a tidgy bit delayed. Obviously for those commuting into london and for those on the overground it's a different matter. But like, in an office of about 200/300 there's about 25 people in atm
Sorry to disappoint some people, but Koko looks to be OK
I can only hope my boss doesn't come in because of it.
Can't work from home. Really frustrating as I'm going to have to work late to make up the time. Fuuuuuu.
This is an act of God, you shouldn't have to work extra.
and now I've been at work for two hours. Although obviously I'm not actually doing much.
I work in Kingston though. Could have easily got to Cabral London but not out west again.
but the 197 to Croydon and then the X26 to Heathrow would have got you to Kingston in under two hours, which is less than it took me to get into Central London this morning.
aye. But it's not even something TFL are giving as a route if you do buses only from FH to Kingston. Quickest route it gives is using several trams and takes two and a half hours.
Forest Hill to Kingston, bus only and that's what popped up.
As far as I know the bus network hasn't been particularly disrupted. They'd have got trees off major trunk roads (boom boom) as a priority.
This never happens.
Garden Fence down, wheelie bins all over the road
Still drove to work though
yesiamaduck - where are you?
Was knocking over garden fences and wheelie bins to make it look like the storm did something
absolutely nothing happened. but the trains aren't going to start up til at least 10, so i'm working from home. result.
Wait your turn
wind status: mild umbrella trouncing
then I looked out my front door and a fallen tree had missed my kitchen window by three feet.
does it make a sound?
must have missed it amongst the general blowery,
pls god don't let me lose electric/internet
otherwise I didn't really notice much aside from the wind knocking down some barriers outside of chiquitos.
Actually quite pleasant out if a bit windy – Did see a few trees down though, and there's a collapsed crane on the Old Kent Road which must have sounded pretty terrifying.
dunno what else is going on #SE15
(why would I know that?)
so there's literally no point to this storm
strong enough to break my garden fence but not strong enough to say its to dangerous to come in.
I heard something crash down around 4am this morning. This morning I noticed a big smashed concrete block between mine and the neighbours house. It's not a roof tile, the roof looks intact from the street. Had to leave for work as everyone else has a lot further to travel than me.
Keep checking live departures and everything's getting later and later. I'm not even going to be able to get on a train when things re-open, am I?
Gonna put GTA V on.
And am now on a P4 bus to Brixton from where I'll get a tube. Bus takes 20 and goes from by the garage on the way up to the Horniman.
and don't think any trains are going from Waterloo / Clapham Junction yet. URGH.
Yeah that's tricky... I think the 85 bus goes to Kingston but you'd probably need to get to Clapham to get that
It's showing as okay for the minute.
WHAT THE FUUUUUCK DO I DO?
options: hour bus to Waterloo, pray there are trains going to Kingston or Surbiton when I get there? Or just not bother.
What does your boss suggest?
Bloody rubbish. Probably going to have to take this day as annual leave now :/
and get playing GTA V in your pants then!
Still annoyed I have to take it as leave. It's not like I have a million days to take. And it's not like I had a choice in the matter either. Ffs.
Got the bacon in, went to bed safe in the knowledge that both were supposed to be shut til midday. Woke up. Both bridges open. Fuck you storm you shit.
Hardly anyone is here.
Over 20,000 schools closed apparently, weiners.
Almost half 10, my boss still isn't here.
still punched in at 8:50. this storm is a pussy. COME AT ME STORM BRO
at Finsbury Park station because there was a puddle at the bottom. Some trees have fallen down in the park by my work. I feel like a wimp for not cycling this morning because it was too windy. Now the weather is lovely.
the internet's going a bit slower than normal.
counted 9 downed trees (+ a hell of a lot of torn off large branches)
Only 1 I had to physically climb over to get by, trees look pretty odd swimming in the river.
fucking hell. Why did no one see that coming ffs
if i'd gone to work today, i would have seen that and had an almighty chuckle.
I had my eyes practically closed.
I've been waiting ages for that thing to fall into traffic
No rain. Are any dis meets happening at any service stations today? I'm going to be stopping at loads
I'm going to have a bk fusion at each one
Us midlanders seem to have dodged it, I walked to work and suffered nothing more than a mild shower.
Bet the northerners aren't even using their umbrellas.
A lot of trees seem to fall on top of moving cars
It's like the world is a game or something, and even though we all know that wind can't really uproot a massive tree, it's just programmed so that if the wind reaches a certain speed the tree goes 'fuck this' and uproots
All the schools round here seem to have shut, though.
I would love to its an hour below me though. Thanks maybe one day
Of the jewish police dudes the Shorrim, remembering that they helped me out when some kids jumped me a while back. But their account has loads of pictures of crims and then I had nightmares. FUK U STROM
the whole house shook
the rest of the street untouched. HMMM.
not sure if that's storm related or not.
Board looked like this when I left: http://tinyurl.com/ozmptug
Still took me forever to get here, and the Overground's still closed as far as I know. Nightmare.
