its tuesday morning and i have the blues
1. Might book Primavera (Porto edition) today.
2. I'm going to THE THEATRE tonight.
3. At lunch I need to source a checked shirt and some "black-rimmed nerd specs" because I'm going to a surprise birthday party at the weekend where we have to dress like the person we're surprising. I think he might die of fright when he sees 50 people dressed like him.
No. To be fair it could be ANYONE off here but it's definitely not someone off here.
which sounds ridiculous but i had to cancel one fest due to month-end and i'm not running the risk again.
I am really excited about it. Can't wait to try a franchesina!
But I'm ewually worried all the bands I care about will play Barca and not Porto.
This year the two bands I most wanted to see only played B :-S
see you in Porto and apparently at the roundhouse for Mew?
The last time I met some DiSers at Primavera it got very, very messy.
But Franchesinas!!! :)
London Zoo's tiger cub has died and Edinburgh Zoo's panda isn't pregnant.
well, for a wee while, anyroad
It's pretty handy for lots of stuff.
Wasn't that impressed by the latest episode of Homeland but The Good Wife was excellent.
The Missouri case that's been dubbed the next Steubenville is really depressing.
taken the cat in for some dental work
some prickbag's had the front wheel off my bike
shouting match with the bus driver
now another day of feck all at work, thank god for DiS
because I have the cold and it's too much of a mission.
I'm really bored this week, but after the stress of the last two weeks I'm quite enjoying it.
i'm in perth during the day for work so might not be able to do beers beforehand :(
I mighb be at the court of session in the afternoon, but I still reckon I'll be back through west for no later than 7, and it doesn't start till 9. YIPPEE. (BEERS AFTER, if not before as Thursday is definitely the Wee Weekend.)
In sure toothache agony. It just came on and wouldn't go. I'm not sat in work feeling drowsy after taking 10 codeine & using a whole tub of numbing gel on me tooth :(
I managed to see one in Islington and they sorted me right out*
*had 15 minute quick look at my teeth, took some x-rays and recommended I used a medicated mouthwash, in fairness it worked.
Is it a walk-in dentist in Islington? My old dtist just told me I can go wait around in their surgery. So I'm going to do that this afternoon...toothache is just ergh.
How are you WWW?
it's been getting pretty busy at work but obvs not busy enough for me to stop posting on DiS :-). How's Soho been treating you?
I used it a couple of times. They are fucking awful, rude and you have to be VERY firm to get an appointment. But still, they made my tooth stop hurting on the same day so ultinately they are heroes.
Anyway, I'll just wait in Tavistock, my own dentist and wait...thanks though.
If you can get one at your normal dentists, do that, becayuse these guys were awful (I had to go with them as it was that or wait till i was next back in scotland.)
No internet or TV in me new gaff so I spent hours just pacing about hold my fat face!
but it took about 10 minutes tops and they were able to see me the same day. I'm supposed to go back there for a check-up actually.
I burst out crying before she even laid a finger on me. Then she got that pick thing and started picking affected area asking if it fucking hurt.
Anyway, I have to have two back teeth taken out but in hospital and I've got a massive abscess under one of them currently.
Feeling very sorry for myself.
that sounds awful, but at least you know what the problem is now and you'll feel much better once they sort you out.
On the plus side you could probably wrangle AT LEAST a week off work after the op.
I'll be able to take a week off work, my boss seems to lack sympathy when it comes to illness...you're more than welcoem to pay a visit though and buy me a giant hot chocolate with cream.
I did that when my wisdom tooth was removed and... well I had to go to work...point made.
Deal! I was going to suggest a sundae but I'm pretty sure that didn't help when I had my tooth out.
I'm now talking in a Bawston accent at work "ARE YEW A CAWPPPPPP"
not helped by doing my weekly monday night football jaunt. Love it, but every Tuesday morning I hate life. Won't be so far to go though soon............
Played some (computerised) Blood Bowl last night. That was alright.
I think my favourite neighbourhood cat wants to come and live with us.
Last night we had Two-Face and Black Cat who I think we will call 'Purrer' sat on our sofa/lap most of the evening. Purrer eventually left when we let him out a second time but Two-Face was clawing at the back door, then when I let her in but was still pottering in the kitchen for a bit with the back door open she started jumping up and clawing at the kitchen door (to the living room) anyway eventually Steve picked her up and put her outside but I felt terrible. Beginning to think she doesn't have a home to go back to. She looked quite unhealthy when we first moved n but has plumped up a bit so we assumed she has a family but I'm not so sure now AND I'm kind of a bit in love with that cat. At one point, when the two cats were both sat on the sofa Two-Face started grooming purrer, I think they are best friends. It was the cutest thing ever.
I don't know what to do. We've talked about putting a collar on Two-Face with a note asking if she has a home but cats don't liek collars and it might be tough to get it on.
I don't want to steal someones cat but I don't want Two-Face to sleep outside in the rain and cold :(
Does Two-Face *ever* have a collar on? When we had a visiting cat, she occasionally had a collar and then when I left a note in it I found out she indeed did have an owner. Maybe make some posters to put down your road asking if she belongs to anyone?
not sure how this helps, I'm just in favour of lion cuts
(also take a picture)
it can stay out in temperatures below -10 degrees C.
you're just using it as an excuse to nick someone elses cat.
what you should do is keep putting the cat outside. if it comes back, spray it with water.
its not your cat.
(subquestion: is -10 the freezing point of cats then?)
And I explicitly expressed my desire NOT to steal someones cat.
I feel really mean leaving it outside in the rain when it's jumping up and clawing at the doors though. If it was so desperate to be inside and it had a home wouldn't it go back home?
I used to not be able to walk away from Furbies when they said 'Play with me!' and they aren't even alive, imagine how I feel about leaving a miaowing cat out in the rain!
just left them outside under a plastic table with a half-tin of catfood, totally exposed to the elements.
We shamelessly stole both and eventually passed them on to the cat lady on the other side of our house.
Ive got the choice between - playing FM13 / Skyrim / Downloading some other RPG off steam, any recommendations hit me up yo
Blood Bowl. Pay what you want.
Plus some other RPG gubbins, idk.
Never even knew this was a thing! Cheers!
To spare you the disappointment: there aren't any Chaos Dwarves or Brettonians in that edition. But there are four (FOUR!) Elf teams, so fill your boots.
One induction today.
I'm still in bed cause I think I'm getting ill.
you like chinese food?
Even though I preapred these cool non verbal skills games. Oh well, only an hour left of the lesson.
I've been really creative recently. Been hand-making and designing coasters to potentially sell, and i made this REALLY COOL mix cd for this I. Can't wait for him to see it.
and wasn't really sure whether to take it, as I didn't know whether I could face up to living in London yet. But came round to the idea a lot over the last few days, and handed in my notice at work today. Quite excited/terrified about London, but probably slightly more on the excited end of things. Gotta start flat hunting soon.
they are still not here. they're getting added to the 'go fuck yourselves' list.
dealing with an incident involving fire in some flats. The landlord/slumlord is a bit of a cowboy which may make things difficult.
Went to see TVs Lucy Worsley talk about history last night which was good. Makes me think about what made history at school a bit dull- and I think the answer was politics.
Everything went blurry and I felt really light headed and had to sit down. It was a bit scary.
