people who work in service stations
specifically, ones that are only on one side of the motorway and don't have a link to the other side.
how do they get to and from work? do they have to drive down the motorway to the next junction in the wrong direction, turn round and come back, adding many miles and minutes onto their commute, or do they have a secret back exit?
Great question.
A lot of them are connected to other roads
They walk.
They've probably got secret tunnels and passages
i imaging that's exactly what they have to do.
Probably just never leave
Tunnels
They've got special dispensation to drive down the hard shoulder in the opposite direction.
Only if their junction is closer to the services.
Another question:
When there are service stations opposite each other, do the staff socialise with their counterparts or is there a bit of grass-is-greener animosity and jealousy going on?
On Christmas day they have a football match on the central reservation
:D

while we're on the subject of access methods, how do people get to the upper or lower floors of buildings? you know those not at ground level, do they bring their own fold out trampoline or ladder to get to upper floors? use the sewer network for basements? or do they have a secret back exit?

They're connected to back roads. I used to cycle there.
