Thinking of going for 2/3 days.
its got a few fancy buildings.. wouldnt go espically for rotterdam though, could catch a train to Utrecht or Amsterdam
shit hot. Polar bears and that.
It was alright.
It's good place to visit if you like modern architecture.
from the restored Café De Unie (one of the finest example of De Stijl architecture) to the famous cube houses, the gracious Swan bridge and the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi). And a rather ugly Space Needle.
I'm guessing 2 nights is more than enough, maybe even one?
you'll be fine with one day. If you plan on visiting other places, such as the Zoo, the Boijmans Van Beuningen (the city's main art museum), the Maritime Museum, the SS Rotterdam (a former cruiseship) or De Kuip (Feyenoord's legendary football stadium) you'll probably need a second day. Rotterdam also has a thriving club scene, and it's the birthplace of "gabba house".
Even though it isn't...
to watch Dutch v Moldova in a Euros qualifier. It was a Friday night and we tried to find the party afterwards, but nothing. Couldn't find anything going on. All seemed a bit odd and quiet. Then we accidentally ended up in a brothel and paid 8 Euros for a beer. Good night.
Got a bit lost. Left shortly after.
Looked pretty nice though!
the train station is ok
here to help
They were still working on it a few months ago when I was last there. Apparently it will be finished next spring.
although I think its got some interesting architecture.
Is it rotterdam thats in 'who am I' (Jackie Chan)
and Capelle aan den IJssel (a suburb).
