seems like a recipe for fun times and no problems at all really
the resources we waste on chavs getting pissed is seriously fucking annoying, as anyone who's ever had to use A&E on a weekend would second.
but the Guardian reader in me thinks this is not really a good way to solve the problem.
nope, none at all
I'll pay it back once the cash starts rolling in.
considering yer man on radio 4 was trying to sell it as some kind of "welfare station" thing, by his logic you're having private 'healthcare' forced on you. just suck it up, say it's a £400 fine for being drunk, which is what it would be.
though, am i right in thinking if the police fine you for something you can in theory appeal against it? what would the rights be in terms of appealing against this?
(£400 was CC of Northamptonshire (i think) Police's estimate)
...I have no problems with this. However, the main area for reform is in licencing of premises - if their customers are regularly falling all over the pavement pissed to the state where the police become involved, then they should be held accountable/shut down.
Gin for £4 a bottle or something and then they rake it in on the back of it.
why it's necessary to privatise something like this just to charge people for the costs incurred.
pretty simple really. I'd go further and say that cunts who get wellied and crack their head open or something should pay for their visit to A&E
to establish blame. fucking pissed up dicks are a real drain, man.
should all pay for any illnesses they get as a result too?
this sounds really right wing and awful, but yeah. gonna start a new thread that is loosely based on this subject.
Would be great if it was run by a bunch of mercenaries and thugs.
they're great at this sort of thing
I had only just got to sleep properly when they started.
But so shit like this don't happen?
£400 is a lot of money, and not everyone could afford this, plus why so much? you could get a pretty fancy hotel for this price (probably with a free minibar). So suppose a drunken dad gets banged up thats £400 out of the family budget, sorry wifey, sonny, no food for you next week, daddy needs the remaining £20 for some stella
I would have thought that that would be a pretty subjective judgement
