Dads - shit
Brooklyn Nine Nine - brilliant 9/10
Shame because I really like Giovanni Ribisi.
means I have some goodwill towards him (and I like Ribisi too) - but Dads sounds truly dreadful. Shouldn't be surprised I guess with Seth McFarlane as Executive Producer.
I havent watched anything else yet. I think Sleepy Hollow is next on my list. I have heard its enjoyable trash.
consistently amazing show.
It was great
That is all.
gonna miss the US Office, I think.
Which admittedly wasn't great last year but hopefully with Dan Harmon back it will get back to it's best. Plus Nathan Fillion's going to be in it, he's always brilliant.
Might get back on it though. I need something to fill the hole that Breaking Bad will make / Orange Is The New Black has made.
A showrunner leaving a show for a season or more and then coming back (aside from when they return to write an episode or two, like Larry David with Seinfeld's terrible finale)
You don't often hear of showrunners getting sacked, usually they leave to do something new or the show just gets cancelled. I think NBC were getting frustrated with Community's cult following but relatively low ratings so tried something drastic which obviously failed. At least they were able to admit they got it wrong and bring him back.
Plus Harmon really didn't get on with Chevy Chase (although apparently no one did) so now he's gone it probably makes things easier for them.
All the way back to his SNL days he's had a reputation for being completely insufferable. Plus Dan Harmon could start a fight in an empty room seemingly. A shame Chase has gone though, I liked Pierce.
but he tweeted pictures from the set yesterday
so excited for this now harmon's back. <3 that guy.
I still think it's massively underrated.
Its daft, and has all the normal failings of a TV legal drama. But well acted and some good characters
I'll definitely give that one a go.
New shows I'm looking forward to
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
Blacklist (saw a good trailer for this last night - James Spader is always great)
American Horror Story
good work, Channel 4.
seems a bit obvious and shit in an NBC or Showtime way, like.
Walking Dead next month.
and is very funny so far, better than the last.
And I loved it. I can't wait to watch more of that. Some proper hearty chuckles there. Feels like that sort of workplace comedy seen on other Schur stuff but with a bit of Hot Fuzz esque action movie/cop show spoofing. And Andre Braugher for good measure
was my big goldmine find of last year...so I'm looking forward to more Mindy.
and James Franco's in at least the first episode of this season
is ridiculous. Its a cop show about a current day female officer teaming up with someone from US civil war era to hunt down one of the four horseman of the apocalypse.
At one point the headless horseman fires a machine gun.
Gonna keep watching as its kind of watchable. Expect it to fall apart by episode 5 though.
oh good it's got the guy from Carnivale in it - whack! Although I wouldn't be surprised if he's back though.
Good cast. Lizzy Caplan, Michael Sheen, Beau Bridges, Alison Janney, others...
Could be good.
