Sorry. It's mainly my girlfriend's fault.
meths and everyone who ^This-ed this post.
It was long overdue for a massive tidy and there was a viewing.
I like it. Might try to become one of those people.
I like it tidy, I wouldn't call my flat a mess by any means, there;s just some stuff on the table at the moment. But to have some peoples level of tidy I'd have to be tidying after every little thing I do and probably get rid of loads of stuff.
one of them had essentially all the rooms as storage, someone had definitely died in the second, and there were someones ashes in the lounge. And the third was so god damned tidy I was scared to walk anywhere in case I ruined it.
want a DFS showroom?
Finally got around to recycling the Christmas Radio Times that had been sat on our coffee table this week.
Find it mildly disturbing.
Also, my cousins' rooms are all preserved in perfect condition even though they are away at uni/living with their boyfriends. Odd.
I do find it odd when people have impeccable houses, I mainly wonder where they put everything. I have the problem that my girlfriend is very untidy and owns loads of shit, we have a 1 year old daughter and we both work full time so tidying really isn't an option a lot of the time. We really need to have a massive declutter and chuck out pretty much everything bar the essentials, then get loads of storage so everything has a place. Then as soon as we finish a cup of tea, immediately wash and dry it then put it away. Then polish the kettle and the sink.
Actually, people with immaculate homes probably just tidy before any visitors come round and have messy homes the rest of the time. I hope so anyway.
to get everything in order, with a place for everything, and then maintain it.
Tell you what - having a dishwasher is a bit of a gamechanger for tidiness. Basically doubles up as a storage facility for dirty crockery.
Keep on top of it. Clean as you go. Have a weekly top to bottom clean. Have a monthly deep clean.
I say this as someone with no kids, mind.
is knowing it's your own fault the house is messy
the worst bit after the crushing loneliness obvs
that's why everyone should live alone at least once, if you live with other people you ALWAYS think it's them
makes me uneasy. All their shit is hidden and you can't tell a fucking thing about what they like. The sort of people that think a pillow on the sofa is 'clutter'. Can't abide it.
a certain family member once honestly said when they came over. Are you fuckin serious? God forbid we have our stuff on display, don't want to inspire a conversation over a mutual interest or something. Shit
i like to live in my house and I find overly ordered living spaces quite sterile and annoying. Having said that, it is squeaky clean just now because I had family round earlier (and a ten week old baby) so I went a bit military with my cleaning this week. I see it lasting until about 10pm tonight.
But once you get into being tidy your stuck with it, I can't get anything done if its messy
It's good being tidy, more efficient
