There's a compilation of a load of landings in bad weather in Madeira (or somewhere like that). Some hairy moments on there.
So you could really see how much they were crabbing and/or swinging in the wind
Probably a bit better that a plane that misses ends up in the sea than in a town centre
softer landing isn't it. Got a bit of give.
Can't imagine there would be any more chance of surviving if you ploughed into a city centre.
or fields made out of pillows.
if it's a waterfront city, I guess putting it into the water is better than having it an hours drive away so it's surrounded by fields?
or do you want to be stuck on the M4?
I still think crashing into water is safer, as it has give and the plane is designed to float...
it's making me feel sick.
your chances of survival is pretty low no matter where you end up though, right?
I don't know, I don't like flying really (boredom as much as anything else) and hate turbulence because it's not pleasant, but if it's your time to die, then so be it, right?
Was so remarkable by being about the only aircraft that has ever done what the nice diagram on the safety card suggests should happen.
It usually just gets smashed to bits.
cant find a vid that shows it but my boss says you essentially had to go between buildings at some points
Probably why so many ended up in the sea/taking the end of the wing off on the tarmac
Gordon Burns not Ben Shepard
I'm flying on sunday
hate it hate it hate
gonna get a boat
cos boats are historically stable in all kinds of water.
but it's a time lapse (yeah, yeah, time lapse) of planes coming into heathrow.
