Steve Wright. Hate him for no other reason than my parents hated him. Hate him.
Because I was raised correctly.
what i was trying to this was the op on Steve (cunt) Wright, obviously you cant do that tho
Hazel Irvine: Starts shouting in a OTT scottish accent and moans about why they all dont "piss off back home"
Moira Stewart: Does OTT mumbling whiney voice and switches off the TV
Johnathon Ross: Thinks he was in the film twister for some insane reason and does a moooo noise because of the cow in the hurricane
Claudia Winkleman: Says she looks like a tuna fish
I cant stand these people now
I've always sort of disliked her as a result, even though she died when I was 4 and seems to have been a good person.
My mum always led us in a chant of 'greasy bob! greasy bob!' throughout bob's full house or whatever the fuck it was.
Not sure we didn't just turn over. Oh wait, I remember. We weren't allowed to watch ITV and there were only four channels available in those days.
(my parents- my father especially- are completely fattist.)
Why did you remind me about the roly polys?
On notice period.
did you do that?
everyone. My father was the quieter voice of reason. It's only in more recent years that I've gone "oh yeah, we used to hate XYZ" and wonder what the fuss was about.
(for making the decision. I have no idea whether it was the right one obviously.)
although I stand by my own critique of them also. But whilst my mum was a bit of a royalist, my Dad hated them. He's right to though. About one of the only things he's right about in the entire world. That and Thatcher being a c**t.
My dad hates him because he's a "slug."
He almost made me hate Mark Viduka for being "a big git," but then I heard the Viduka and Harry Kewell hated each other and Viduka wouldn't talk to him, which made me sort of like Viduka a bit more.
Actually, pretty much anyone who publicly said anything remotely Tory-supporting
I used to hate him too, but now I put his music on to wind her up
There was a genuine sense of celebration in our house for about a week after they got divorced.
Whenever he sees Gordon Brown on TV.
Kinda makes me like Gordon Brown though.
My mum calls them ''The Stupid Two'' and is often heard to say that ''they're no Morecambe & Wise''.
I think I have been indoctrinated by a little of this
pretty sure I would have worked that one out on my own anyway
Doesn't mean he's not though, tbf.
(all of them)
and obviously both of them disliked the Tory government of the 80s and 90s.
My mum was a bit more harsh though, and in hindsight, I probably agree with all of these:
Ray Davies (from the Kinks) - tax dodger
Phil Collins - Tory
Rolling Stones - tax dodgers
Shirley Porter - obvious reasons
Karen Keating (RIP) - thought too much of herself for a Blue Peter presenter
Ulrika Johnsson - thought too much of herself for a weathergirl
- People who wore fur
- White South Africans who weren't active in the anti-apartied campaigns (and subsequently, white south africans who left their country after aparteid was abolished)
- the state of Israel
No Sky for us.
My mum keeps trying to justify the expense (she can't afford it but gets sick of the freeview channels) but thinks it's rude to talk about money, so I just use 'yeah... but Murdoch's a cunt' as a reason not go for it.
Charlie Haughey: Irish Taoiseach for much of the eighties. My mother hated him and his party (Fianna Fail) with a passion. Every time his image was shown on TV she'd roar "Bastard!" at the TV and get us to join in, even when we were kids. (Mentioned this in a thread the other day)
Chris De Burgh: Hated my my mother because he cheated on his wife with "the Nanny". I hate him for his music now though.
Dean Saunders: My Da hated him because he basically ended Dean Saunders career and so taught us to hate him too.
David Coulthard: Da used to call him a "square-jawed Scottish bastard" and tried to get us to hate him. It didn't really work to be fair. I don't mind Mr. Coulthard.
Your dad ended his career?
Dean Saunders ended Paul Elliott's career! Spaced out while typing that sentence.
I have a photo of him and me.
(I too am a Paul Elliott fan)
Paul Elliott is also the real name of Paul out of the Chuckle Brothers (whose career was not ended by Dean Saunders)
Instead my father played for his local side and was known mostly for his long, flowing locks (held in place by an Alice band) and his habit of going into reckless sliding tackles. Ironic, given his later dislike of Dean Saunders.
Both from my dad, he's a good judge.
He's alright really, isn't he?
A nasty, little-Englander: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XShH--nZ-Yw
Dad would start making jokes about cocaine whenever she was on TV.
My dad used to rip the cover off the Radio Times if he was on it.
she read an article about him a few years ago in one of those celeb gossip mags, which revealed he had a biscuit fetish (specifically bourbon creams). Every time he comes on the tele, she looks disgusted and switches channel.
I think my mum might be a bit mental, mind.
Sir Alex Ferguson (wasn't knighted at that point though the Wrigleys cunt)
A mix of people from light entertainment, sport and the 90s sleazy wing of the Tory party.
Not a bad list but the fact he hates Henry Blofeld as well means I can't take his opinion too seriously.
Can't believe I forgot Botham.
And David Frost. Couldn't stand him.
mum doesn't like him because of his character in Shallow Grave. She says he's "really creepy."
Dad finds Bruce Forsyth unbearable and said "he should have retired 30 years ago."
Well, no, but they certainly fucking tried, both between them.
So Tiger Woods, Stephen Hendry, Alex Ferguson...
Cilla Black and Phil Collins because of the Tory thing
My dad hated Jimmy Saville...but that's because he told my dad to fuck off once.
I can't remember the exact reason, but it was something to do with something that he said about striking social workers. My mum was a social worker.
I was expecting them to be a bit smug about him being a paedo, but then I remembered that they had a bit more class than that. Also my dad loves Rolf Harris, and he's gone all quiet about that lately.
