and still feeling fresh today :D
Yesterday I got rid of a load of books (though still loads more to go) ahead of next weekend's move. Impending sense of doom over the whole thing growing.
Feels so good to have done it now.
Holiday tomorrow. What the fuck do I need to do apart from print boarding passes and locate my passport? I feel really underprepared.
as for your holiday, money, passport, boarding passes, clothes, and you'll be right.
charge your electricals, take a plug adaptor, dont forget your toothbrush - are all nice to haves.
havea good time.
Was a miracle. No breakages yet either.
Aye. Going to travel very lightly because Wizz Air want you to pay if you put your hand luggage in the overhead locker, which is ridic. And I'm massively tight (well, the money could buy like 12 beers in Poland so fuck paying that).
but i peaked way to soon and had to leave early :( woops.
Spent the rest of it playing gran turismo. What a life I have.
Also, I'm going back to Manchester from 27 September to 5/6 October! Cannae wait.
did you have a really good weekend?
someone has just come to the door trying to sell BT and asked if my mam is in because i'm clearly a wee bairn. this keeps happening.
Met up with some glasgow DiSers on Friday night for a bit, but had to leave early as I had a migraine coming on. Spent much of the rest of the weekend horizontal, eating MEAT, drinking wine and learning interpretative modern dance from youtube videos. I had a massive slug of cherry lambo for breakfast this morning btw. Mental note not to take a glass of it to bed again...
spent weekend in liverpool, was fun !
Trust me, it's very much worth a read. Stick with it.
My weekend was alright. Studying, mostly.
GOOD: this is the last Monday I work until mid October!
BAD: it's because I'm taking Mondays off to study for professional exams. I'm pretty certain I'm going to fail one of the two.
Got so pissed at the wedding that I think I danced myself into a really sore set of knees, a pulled stomach muscle, and lost a full day on Friday to a hangover to unbearable I could barely even eat pizza at 10pm.
Was so so good. It's pretty terrifying that the next wedding is my own. Haha.
Also, the Harry Potter tour in Watford is GREAT.
The Cribs on fri night were fucking amazing and the edinburgh crowd felt like a proper Glasgow barrowlands crowd! Ended up on wrong train home and having to get a taxi from Larbert back to glasgow, then to some party and then i tried both Oeuf and Dude but didn't get either of them. There's always next time.
I was in a dark room with my phone on silent by the time you called me.
How you feeling today?
Went to MEAT BAR last night, which was great. Then stayed up way too late drinking wine and doing dancing and stuff.
I wrapped the drinking up yesterday about 7.30, pretty chuffed with myself! :)
Sharing meat platter of brisket, ribs, wings and pulled pork was so so good. Also mash with bone marrow gravy. I might have that mash for lunch every day now.
I was at meat bar last night with a partial veggie. He seemed to cope with all of the meat although there were definite meat sweats at one point.
and it makes a lot sense just to go along with it. bascially breakfast and dinner; lunch is a free for all. :D
i got engaged to my thinly-veiled this weekened 10/10
I'm so glad it all went to plan. have you set a date or are you taking it slowly?
no date as yet but it'll be in the next 2 years tops i think, gonna try and get married in the wee chapel at Luss too as that's where i'd proposed
I've been to a wedding there. It's gorgeous!
overnight shift on Saturday; tough and boring. I saw Frances Ha in the cinema; a brilliant quirky indie film. I'm off today and will go for a bike ride around Regent's Park. Have fun whatever you're up to people.
I'm so hungry but can't bear to eat, even drinking water is pretty painful. Ugh. At least I can watch breaking bad thisafternoon instead of having to wait til I finish work.
great times had by all, and I found a couple new great, great albums that are going to make this week a lot cooler
made some new *internet friends*
met up with some irl friends I hadn't seen for ages.
went drinking in a beer garden* in the rain.
and to the lido, and then to David Mellor's old house (the designer) which was absolutely amazing if you like modernist stuff, just incredible and the best stereo system ever, then went to see the paternoster in Sheffield and got on the roof of the arts tower.
Watched Abbot and Costello yesterday before work, and a really old film called Isle of the Dead. That made going to work easier.
and will do all sorts of things with them. also drank all the beer and feel a bit rough
Supposed to be going to see Woods tonight. I feel like this will only happen if someone wheels my chair to Dalston.
I'm actually going to nip across the road home for a wee lie down and a packet of wotsits <3
Not sure why I capped those.
I was sick in the bassist's Brother's car. bd.
I just nipped home for a wee skive. I have to go to a tedious lunch in an hour and then host a meeting about a transaction that has been dunped on me by a colleague who is on holiday and I have NOT A CLUE what it's all about. I just want to lie in bed and eat mars ice creams bars.
I'm sending you a very important message about some very important business matters. (holiday)
I just opened a perfectly innocent attachment from a client to see extremely graphic high res photos of open wounds, and worse. I think I've gone a funny colour.
Imagine if part of someone's pubic region looked like an uncooked microwaveable shepherds pie.
it was amazing, but my niece wouldn't have any, and my sister didn't finish hers because she was already feeling a bit ill.
also the AKAI EIE Pro I bought off eBay makes a really awful static noise upon playback. FNRGH. the seller has ten years of impeccable stats, but I bet he knew this upon selling.
What do you have in mind for it?
sure youve thought of thse but..
how are you listening back? you checked all wires etc?
is it just through the unit itself? no sign of noise on the wave forms? tried different DAWs?
shame man :(
googling it suggested that this isn't an uncommon problem with the unit :( gonna get in touch with Akai. massive faff, though.
viney - I was going to use it to facilitate the making of music and stuff.
there's a whole other story explaining that.
Managed to do it without walking or stopping (except for dicking around for ages getting my wetsuit off and drying my feet).
Struggling with stairs a bit today.
how was it? was it your first one? summat i've considered as the next step.
I've never done anything like it before, not even a 5km run, so just finishing was my target. The open water swimming part is definitely something you need to prepare for. If you do front crawl then it can be quite disorientating as you can't really see where you're going.
There's definitely an art to transitioning as well. Based on my split times, from the moment I got out of the water to the moment I set off on my bike, 50 people overtook me.
Was Lovely to see you on Friday. I ended up not staying for too long at the duck (after getting people to go there sorry) because the music wasn't what I expected or something. Think I was being a grump for no reason to be honest. Everyone was sound (japes, Wza, Wza's significant other, everyone else).
I'm in a mood now cause I want to get my Glasgow club membership but my one week of JSA hasn't been paid so I can't afford the full rate. Also want to get commonwealth games tickets but Richard Branson is being a DICK.
was excellent, really enjoyed it. :D
Saw Kick Ass 2 yesterday - rather underwhelmed. Some good moments, but it felt really lumpy and badly edited together. Lacked what made the first one brilliant. :(
Going to see TORCHE tonight. \m/
was pretty good, not amazing but a couple awesome artists. now i'm at work. my coffee lid had a split and i poured it all over myself. wicked.
