***** WAY TO PLAY #1: Full Predictions League *****
Post (as a reply) your predictions for the score of each of the ten matches, assigning each a coefficient between 1-10 (using each number only once). For a correct SCORE you receive DOUBLE the number of points. For only a correct RESULT (home/away/draw) you receive EQUAL the number of points.
**NEW**
Each week I'll randomly assign one of the matches as a Wildcard ("W") Match. For only this match, your points will be TREBLE for a correct score and equal for a correct result, BUT you'll lose the number of points you wagered on it if you get it completely wrong.
**NEW**
If you miss a week you'll receive the lowest number of points scored that week (excluding any bonus games) minus FIVE.

Also, concerning the wildcard...
I'd have it so everyone can allocate one result per week as a wildcard, but you only get triple points if you get the result exactly right- anything else equals zero. Should keep things interesting.
Yeah, that sounds a better idea!
Saves me feeling like A MASSIVE NERD rolling a d10 each week.

QUESTION re; Wildcards
I like the idea, but might refine it. Two options. ^this to vote.
1. You Choose Wildcard
TREBLE points for a spot-on score. ZERO points for anything else.
2. You Choose Wildcard
TREBLE points for spot-on score, SINGLE for result. LOSE points if wrong.
this^ but you choose not us

WEEKEND ONE RESULTS:
TWENTY THREE players signed up for the first week (hooray!), up on last season's 19 (though only 10 saw Week 40).
Villa surprised everyone with their smash-and-grab dodgy pelanties win at the Emirates (dunno, not seen 'em), with everybody falling foul of the new Wildcard rule and losing points, though INNISJ dodging the bullet the most sacrificing just the 3 points.
NESTOR got the first of his two scores spot on, doubling up with the Norwich and Everton 2-2 draw. His second came courtesy of Man City, to be the only player this week to get more than one score correct.
HARRU was the only person to correctly predict a Bournemouth win and has subsequently been docked 1,000 DW points as I read his prediction on the drive down to the ground.
The big three all won comprehensively, though no one was able to get the right scores for Man United or Chelsea, but NESTOR and HARRU got the 4-0 City win correct to double-up.
Ajax's 2-1 win in Je Clajassicajeuerglei
In his usual way of being shit as his own game, only TWENTYNINE predicted a lifeless 1-1 draw at the Etihad, as well as a load of other bullshit.
Kudos to KEVBIZARRE for being the only person to predict EIGHT corect results, Arsenal and Wigan letting him down.
Last year's winner KOSTENURKY starts in the middle of the pack, with Sunday's results bringing all his points.
It's a three-way tie at the top after Week One. 29.78 was the average score.
As ever, please feel free to double-check your own results. It's all done by hand and the gin starts to wear off by midday.
The WILDCARD system is subject to a proposed change, see a couple of posts up for a poll.
Fixtures to come tomorrow, you'll all be sent a PM.

2-1 for the home team?
or either side winning by two goals to one?
would have to be the former, i imagine, as the latter would be two seperate scorelines.
in any case, there were three 2-1 home wins in English professional football this weekend, out of 46 games, and four in total, home or away.
he just reckons 2-1
so when he is predicting he just says the home team will win 2-1 "unless it's like southampton vs sunderland and then i say a draw"
he's not far off.
the most common scores are
1-0 (11.16%)
1-1 (10.63%)
2-1 (9.42%)
2-0 (9.11%)
0-0 (8.74%)

it's really hard to predict scores, though. even just for a couple of games.
