Just noticed they are all going mad for Nike shoes. Anyone else noticed this ?
When/how did his all happen?
It probably just catching on in passe Dalston now.
just a thought...
Not a hipster though as too fat
sponsoring prominent Tumblrs/Instagrammers/etc. to post their stuff in a 'style blog approved' kind of way, without ever making it overt that they're essentially paid for advertisements. The cool kids seem to have bought it hook, line and sinker. The launch and subsequent popularity of the flyknits is a case in point.
so went for Adidas Gazelle/Samba style stuff instead. Fatforward to the start of this year and every shop has massive displays of these Nike shoes, and everyone is wearing them. Crazy. Also £140 for Flyknits? That'd bag you 2-3 pairs of other stuff. Nuts.
Heard some guys meeting up and the first thing one said to the other was 'nice kicks man... They look fresh... Box fresh'
some people call trainers "kicks"?
some people call things that look like they're fresh out of the box "box fresh"?
I am going to use the "fresh... box fresh" for completely inappropriate Nathan Barleyism scenarios in the future.
</AutoDiS: You can ask your mum about it later>
recent, stupid, aggressive converse adverts have put me off ever buying converse
SHOES ARE BORING, WEAR SNEAKERS
(nike owns converse)
Look at this sexy, grimey photo of 2 people you wish you could hang out with wearing converse sneakers and kissing.
Take that, society.
WAKE UP SHEEPLE: WEAR A TYPE OF TRAINERS THAT EVERYONE'S BEEN WEARING FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS.
getting soaked through in rain, being uncomfortable to walk in, awkward to put on/take off, and falling apart in under a year put me off Converse.
the worlds first 'pop-up' (verb, appear suddenly or unexpectedly) mall since it opened more than two years ago
took about six months to make.
now full of awful peopel.
(Unless you pick a range of ingredients like me which included olives, bacon and blue cheese dressing, and turned it into a salty mess).
I assume you just mean it's catching on with your regular LME type.
Trainers with semi-hidden heel elevation
Go into Primark and they got Nirvana t-shirts everywhere for 8 quid. It's horrible.
Cara Dev something or other and Rita Anal have brought the 90s beanie hats/nike trainers back too...
It's weird when a trend comes around and you can actually remember it the first time round.
had unsuprising results
worked a few years too late, then.
