used TESCOS this week.

thoughts...

- saw a record high tuna price, 4 tins for £8.39. ooosh.
- also noticed some alarmingly expensive ham, £3.18 for 4 slices. wuuuut?
- been getting well into OREOS again. 49p a pack, yes please.
- Sunpride mango joice, 50p for a liter. cashback.
- cornettos, 4-packs, properly cheap, but they're not the fucking proper ones, the twats. not on.

what've you been buyin', lads?

  • Went to Hulme/Moss Side Asda yesterday

Couldn't buy any dried falafel mix. I was quite upset.

  • Tesco Everyday Value Cashew Nuts - A Warning

I thought I'd cheap out; they're nuts, they can't be much different? Fuck knows where they found these dried out skinny excuses for cashew nuts.

  • Bought some "Silly Straws" last night (impulse buy)

...And as i sat Alone in my flat last night drinking a bottle of Large Bottle of Red Kola using them, with no TV or Music on just staring at the wall, I got really angry at myself for what I have become and threw the Silly Straws out the window

  • I noticed this week that the Sainbos "Taste the Difference" ham hock and mature cheddar sammich

is EXACTLY THE SAME as Tesco's "Finest" ham hock and mature cheddar sammich. Even the bread is the fucking same. And they both have ale chutney.

      • Sainsbos one is included in their £3 lunch deal, but the RRP is £2.95 IIRC.

I didn't see the price of the Tesco one unfortunately. They're even in the same PAPER FUCKING PACKET.

I don't want any more details, I just want the prices.

  • Made a rare trip to Waitrose this week

as I was cooking this for the ladyfriend

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/pastawithcourgettesa_93036

They wanted £4 for 200g of Rigatoni! Outrageous.

(I don't do the weekly shop so this is as far as I go supermarket wise)

    • Just got 3 mature cheddar cheeses for the price of 1 at co-op

900g of brand cheese for £4 quid, yeah go on then.

Also paid Costco a visit today. They have vending machines with 750ml bottles of mineral water for 25p, they should have these in more places and the likes of WHSmith should be ashamed.

however I do seem to recall they're £3 each or part of the £3 meal deal... so go for the meal deal instead of buying the sandwich alone.

Make sure your pour the first bowlfull as it has LOADS of chocolate bits in and then whoever gets the second bowl, gets far less.

      foppyish | 2 Aug '13, 15:29 | X

She says the fridges are constantly going mad as soon as it gets slightly warm outside

    • Waitrose

a couple of quiches, some potatoes, some salad, and two 4packs of Staropramen.

It's the second closest supermarket to where I work. The closest is Asda, which brings out the snob in me.

    • Got some Extra Special, corn-fed, boned chicken thighs from Asda's

For only slightly more than the normal breasts cost. Much more tasty.

Ended up with some ready to eat chicken legs from Waitrose for lunch the other day. Absolutely disgusting.

    • Morrisons better come good on the frozen spinach front this afternoon.

Co-op and Saino's Local cane up short yesterday, so no spanakopita for Wza until tonight.

      TheWza | 2 Aug '13, 16:12 | X
      • Update:

Frozen spinach: check. (Spanakopita was lush two nights running).

Blue moon 4 pack was reasonably priced. As were Batemans and Williams Bros ales.

Frijj ltd editions were on discount @ 75p. Not nearly as nice as the choc or fudge versions, though.
