but fuck that, let's talk about other games. tomviolence showed me cosmic encounters. it's fucking amazing.
I've not played anything in a while as my friends are shite, but my shelf is as follows:
oxford is great for it as there's a club and a new cafe as well. i'm going to go to the club tonight.
small world is definitely one i want to try
and very easy to learn, but the race/power combos can sometimes make it really confusing. It's also better with 4/5 players than 3, and almost pointless with 2.
Libertalia is great as well, definitely try that if you get the chance.
just closed down =(
Lovely place as well. They'd caffeine you up to the eyeballs with free soda / coffee while you were in there.
I still think that the most fun / evil of all the not-shite games.
Soft spot for Risk Godstorm also. Having a whole continent ready to sink into the sea at any point in the game = amazing.
as a not-shit board game, worthy of inclusion with the games above. There's no single name for this as a category really. Is there?
stuff with heavy theme, lots of stats, dice etc is usually Ameritrash
Everything else: Monopoly
but can I give a plug for citadels? Has anyone played it?
you have to operate on a dalek
but given their status as the Doctor's key nemesis, doesn't that make it more a form of torture?
i genuinely almost wrote him/her/it as well
... that was pretty ace. And Space Hult too :D
And another one where you have to navigate the railways of britain (as they were 100 years ago)
Both have come i to my possession by chance, both are undeniably scintillating.
Incidentally, theres a man next to me on the train and Im pretty sure he's got a dog turd in a bag, no dog though
