*Piccadilly line tube announcement*
Football fan #1: <something in French or German or whatever> Cockfosters <more foreign gabbling> Wankdorf!
Football fans #2 - #10: Hahahahaahahaha!
The name has been recorded as far back as 1524, and is thought to be either the name of a family, or that of a house which stood on Enfield Chase. One suggestion is that it was "the residence of the cock forester (or chief forester).
I come from a family of cock foresters. A sign.
try Camden - it's both big AND small!
No one. It's like any of the stations at the end of the line, they're ghost towns
and now drive through it regularly to see the thinly veiled. It has some good restaurants.
That's the word that i always get it mixed up with.
i am actually from cockfosters. it's the suburbs, and is actually as you'd expect it to be. the best thing about it is the fact that i'm from there.
someone hilarious changes the road signs now and again to read 'cockfesters', but it's not very funny after you've seen it 4 million times.
what else do you need to know?
To be honest I stopped reading when I got to the bit about you being the jewel in the crown of Cockfosters. Not a place I care to be seen
Because if so, HMMMMMMMM
Not much there. The station staff were the bane of my life. I think they moved everyone who was too incompetant for the rest of the Tube network out there.
Blue Olive does excellent meze
Arsenal players living in Hadley Wood go for coffee there a lot
The garden of the Cock & Dragon pub is nice
i saw lennox lewis in the cock and dragon once.
cockfosters rep baby
it's nice. solid chip shop. i lived just across the street from the station which was nice. lots of very rich people in the area.
It's not a "town" so much as an ara. Tube. Trent park. Nice enough pub(s). Hadley is up the road. It's ok. No great shakes but a nice zone 4/5 kinda place. Can't really fault it. Not exciting but leafy yo.
The roadworks were because they are building an M&S Simply food.
