yes and ho
at priority lanes.
i'll still let someone who i know was there before me go before me.
but i'll regret it as soon as that guy orders 5 "skittle bombs"
when slack-jawed bar staff approach a bar 8 people deep and look around going 'who's next?'
you roaring shitbox!
yes and ho.
Strange that nice weather isn't enough to tempt folk onto bikes, it takes uncomfortably hot weather to do so...
swipe it, pour a pint, goes on the account
can also be used for: ordering food, ordering non-tap drinks to your table, playing selections from their deeply terrible jukebox
you have to leave a regular card behind the bar to stop you from running out
Yes and ho.
What is it with you London types and your love of plastic? A busy bar it takes bloody ages and holds up everyone. Just bring some money, ffs.
Especially when its the start of a night, meaning they definitely had a chance to go and get some cash.
who would pay on card, decline taking any cashback, then get each subsequent round on their card and decline cashback again and again.
Made sure those people got served last.
that's quicker than cash
has started accepting contactless, and a few others actually, like the Crown and Shuttle, its great.
oh an a couple of pints of whatever lager needs it's barrel changing soonest please
my colleague "two glasses of rosé please*"
barman "we don't serve rosé - we've got red, white, or mead".
*I was drinking ale, so i was alright
we don't need reminding about it, your drink's coming idiots
buses in the rain is when the person to leap on first seems to enjoy rummaging around in their bag then asking a series of awkward questions to the driver. I am clutching my return ticket, get the fuck out of the way. It would be great if at a bar you could just nip in and get a pint and pay with cash, even more if you have the right change. People buying weird stuff, food orders and paying by card (with cashback) - back of a long line ta.
we had a bottles and soft drink bar - so anyone drinking those could be seen much quicker. Not always ideal and there was obviously only bottled beer, but was a nice compromise and eased queues on the main bar a lot.
Maybe 10-15 years ago, like a tube that held four pints that you would get filled at the bar and then take back to your table and it had a tap on it?
i'm six foot 2, fat, bearded and rude. pretty hard for them not to see me
because i'm not decrepit like you
probably in a Scream pub or something
Don't know if it ever had a name. It's a bit shit though - beer gets flat and warm in it quite quickly.
then he could strap it to his head and get noticed by the bar staff.
the thought of actually having to queue up to buy a drink, rather than being served at my table, just seems incredibly primitive. Pubs would sell a lot more booze if they had table service. Memories of Friday evenings in London, 6pm, everyone pouring out of the office gagging for a pint, & the local pub just having 2 staff on. Ridiculous.
Some were in favour, some weren't. Personally, I'd rather die than have someone come and serve me at a table. Its the pubs choice, and I guarantee that most would go under unless they were serving a (rich) niche. I dont know anyone whos moaned about time spent getting served in a pub, and if youre the kind of person that does, dont head to somewhere thats going to be mentally busy on FRIDAY after work ffs
bet this is who queues at the little bit that bends around at the end of the bar. Always wondered who those people were
and the barstaff just kinda toss cans in from a distance http://image.dhgate.com/albu_292731087_00/1.0x0.jpg
