How are we all? Feels a bit like after the Lord Mayor's Show this morning.
from luaghing at the needy friend thread.
I'm guessing: is it the most Indie-Bedwetting thread ever?
Worth a gander.
Thread being discussed in other threads; hallmark of a classic.
I think he mustve eaten prunes before bedtime then dreamt of weeing whilst swimming in the ocean.
I didn't even drink yesterday. Getting old.
Brilliant weekend. Spent Friday night in a pub getting unexpectedly drunk with work colleagues, spent Saturday travelling to Whitstable with my band to eat fish and chips, relax by the sea and play a gig in a beach hut and yesterday watched the tennis then went to a Victorian-style steam-powered funfair.
Today I need to go to the British Library and research the undead.
Need to go to the launderette tonight as the washing machine broke :(
Saturday was loads of fun though, so currently feels worth it. Also watched Bad Lieutenant (Nicolas Cage version) and Flight at the weekend, which were good albeit much more thematically similar than I was expecting. Summary: good weekend, want to curl up under my desk and go to sleep.
Was a bit ill at the weekend, and this national gushing at that man tennising harder than that other man is making me feel a bit autistic, but otherwise things are good.
Would rather not be in work though, ta.
Out at site the next two day though, and by the time I'm next here it will be post hump day so things will seem better.
Decent weekend of drinking Friday and Saturday, did nothing yesterday though and couldn't sleep last night because it was too hot.
Not really too sure why and now a bit worried that i said something about loving pear drops when I was a bit pissed on friday afternoon. I do quite like pear drops though and I am enjoying them.
Very fun weekend doing stuff.
My mouth feels really funny.
I have also just realised how tired I am from the weekend. My half hour snooze on the train (woke with head on woman beside me's shoulder) has actually made me cleepier. So sleepy.
Good word for when you wake up with your head on the shoulder of a fellow passenger you have never met before
Fortunately i wasn't dribbling on her. Butyeah, probably a bit cleepy.
I had a really good weekend.
Friday - my usual last minute drining buddies were out of town so i ended up getting drunk on my own and half watching field in england until the gf came round.
Sat - Alcopop All Dayer at the Windmill. Great line up, bbq, wonderful weather, what more could you want.
Had to leave after the bands cos the others I was with wanted to get the last tube but we missed it anyway, bit annoying.
Sun - went to Regent's Park and fed the ducks.
Had a hair cut as my brain was boiling.
Went out for awkward birthday drinks with a friend nobody really sees any more.
Watched tennis on my laptop in the garden with cider and crisps.
Had a takeaway.
think i mimght actually move my bed into my kitchen
managed to walk 30km and not get sunburned, a big win. i also got bite by a cleg and it's a belter. some photos:
and the cleg bite (icky)
Where were you walking?
the weather was absolutely perfect.
Fucking shattered. Had a relatively chilled day yesterday as well, couple of beers, watched the tennis, bar b q, bed at a decent time.
I did spend yesterday lunchtime projectile vomitting for about 30mins right enough from the night before! :(
As Ichor said, maybe i'm just getting too old for all this carry on!
I feel bloody marvellous this morning. Spent Saturday on Worthing with my family and best mate, drinking Pimms and playing football with my nephew. Amazing moment when my sister said to him "watch out for the mud" and he turned around and said "DO NOT CALL ME A SLUT". Not sure where he learnt that word.
Feeling properly settled in Brighton now and it's an amazing place to be, especially after spending 25 years in a sleepy commuter town. I don't remember ever feeling this happy.
It's my birthday tomorrow, FYI.
I didn't even drink. The sun and early mornings make me need a nap at about 3 and then I just couldn't find it within myself to get up. Eurgh. At least I got to watch some good films.
ANYWAY. Vaguely feeling refreshed for my week of super-hard-working-being-productivity-guy.
In LONDON Thurs-Sunday, had a pint with some gr8 people off here on Thursday and saw an actual copy of the 'I'm an Office Worker' threadbook.
Friday played music with my brother in the practice room once used by legendary band 'Towers of London'
Mostly just ate and drank and slowly fried in the sun.
Lawndawn in the summertime, as Anthony Kiedis once said.
The heat is lovely, but sleeping is difficult.
whilst there was tennis on. it was pretty soul destroying.
got home from work and just watched loads of Californication (WHY have I never seen this before) and drank some very strong Scottish cider. Today I feel horrible but it certainly helped.
I have no work now until Saturday, which is pretty awful because it means I have loads of spare time and no money to spend. Gonna have to miss Advance Base playing tomorrow now as well :(
but I fond it got a bit repetitive quite quickly. You may disagree, so you should persevere. Talk to me about the cider. I really fancy some cider.
I can sorta see that but I'm enjoying the Bukowski-ness of it too much to care at this point.
THISTLY CROSS is your friend - http://www.thistlycrosscider.co.uk/
They make a 7.2% that manages to also taste really nice, as well as a Strawberry one that manages to not be cloyingly sweet.
AND THEY SELL IT AT THE FARM SHOP IN ELIE! (which means it must be really tip top.)
Friday: just pissed about watching the tennis and drinking beer and that
Saturday: just pissed about in my garden reading, watched the Lions match, then went into London to see boyfriend's bro, had an evening picnic in Highgate Wood with beers and that, then watched Scott Pilgrim <3
Sunday: just pissed about in London watching tennis and getting drunk. Was Very Good. Went to FIVE GUYS which has THE BEST soda machine I have ever ever ever seen. So ridic. Burgers were ace too. Would eat a million times again.
Pissed Jeans and then drinks in Camden, then we went to a beautiful wedding in an amazing setting near Oxford, right on the river Thames. Then last night we saw Beck who was so much fun.
It's really warm, isn't it?
Not seen beck in years, brilliant as always i assume?
That was maybe a little too polite at first, until it livened and loosened up later on, but last night was just him and a bass player and pianist (plus his son and his daughter shaking tambourines and maracas), and he looked to be really enjoying himself.
Glad to hear it was good.
had grand times with friends watching hookworm support pissed jeans at the ballroom (hookworm are incredible, pissed jeans were dross) then saturday was sky installation, viccy park lunch, horse party gig in clapham (i hate clapham) then yesterday was mostly writing in the sunshine and looking at the telly with lollies and such. hardly any sleep for the last three nights though - combo of heat and a horrible choking style cough. work is already the stupidest thing in history and i've not even been here an hour.
And I can't exactly go home sick because they'll blatantly assume I'm off to lie in the sun.
i don't need this.
she stays quiet for months on end then BAM! she 'likes' a status update that mentions someone's vagina or similar. block her immediately jordan, immediately.
there better be a killer mum joke in the post after this btw...
There, will that do?
you underestimate yourself pickle.
I hate it when she pops up with a comment on something because it's always giving me into trouble for something or mentioning how untidy my room is and it's sooo embarrassing.
Fortunately she's only just discovered that you can watch videos of cats on the internet, so I think she's a good 10 years away from social media.
first internet device she's ever had. she is on Facebook but she mostly just posts pictures of her cats. she did text me excitedly though when she discovered cat videos, she said she found one that made her cats go bonkers and she just played it over and over for an hour to wind them up.
the shopkeeper accused me of just going in to get change as I only had a tenner. He was pestering me to buy more stuff but I refused. Well I won't be going back there again, sorry for troubling you for business matey. What would I need change for anyway? Buses round here give you change or a change ticket without too much moaning.
When the weather's like this, living there feels like being on holiday all the time :D
(shame I'm stuck in an office right now)
i went to a 'wacky' hotel, a seafood restaurant, and mainly the beach. But a good time was had by all. ALL.
bang my head on a low beam so hard I have a huge gash on my scalp and spent 4 hours on a train that was pretty much a moving sauna full of smelly angry people.
And still had a fucking awesome weekend.
Songwriting and sunshine, pretty sweet already!
Also I'm going to become an uncle again on Friday!
3 year old daughter whom i hadn't seen for 9 days, as she'd been on holiday with her mother and her crew. Long 9 days that was.
We enjoyed the sun but tbh im not a massive fan of hot days as ive got bad skin so I cover up. :(.
On a brighter note..enjoyed the Tennis yesterday.
Had big plans for this week too. Gah.
I'm going to get sdandwiches and sit out in the park. hope you feel better soon x
Not sure it is acceptable to fertilise the plants in such a manner.
had a really nice weekend in the Coromandel. Car broke down on the way back though and got stuck in a valley with no reception and in a nippy -1 degree chill. By some insane coincidence one of my good friends drove past and saw us and picked us up. Going to have to go and pick up the car tomorrow though.
+ saw Pissed Jeans on Saturday, didn't get the best sound from where I was stood but it was still fun times and the supports were brilliant especially hookworms
+ went to a bbq on saturday, drank lots of beer + pims
+ watched UFC 162 which was literally history in the making
- lost my debit card, so my mum is propping me up for the next few days...it's like being a student all over again.
No money missing or anything, just the potential.
Good work Visa, but wish I hadn't spent the morning worrying that I'd run out of money. Eurgh.
Spent £££ on posh beer and notmeat and bread at Giffnock Whole Foods.
Watched start of Borgen series one.
"I'm getting kale chips all over my mac book, stop making me laugh"
