so many layers to trolling nowadays
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution
Interesting that christianity appears to have a persecution complex literally written into its scripture.
Shoulfve said 'unfortunately' not 'yea'
before it became the main religion going in Europe
Love a bit of meta-trolling.
I imagine dis is a really unwelcoming place to all people of faith, especially non-Christian faiths. He makes a very good point.
for all the Rastafarians on DiS.
A openly-Muslim poster on DiS wouldn't get anywhere near the amount of shit I do for having a Faith.
but you're not.
they would from me.
Then everyone would call me a racist, like they called me a sexist. Because I care about TRUTH.
Sorry, I'm in and out of here.
Sorry to burst that bubble, Christy.
because the basic tenets of what we percieve to be jesus's teachings and examples
(the good bits ,as opposed to the dogma and churchy authority)
would seem to be diametrically opposite to what appears to be the tenets of the tory party
joined up/coherancy/consistancy of thinking/behaviour does not seem to be a priority of his
its a petty personal insult.
Actually I think that you will find that joined up coherancy of thinking is a very important priority of mine.
My personal failure is in my ability to successfully articulate and communicate, via small text boxes.
Also having consistancy is not a particular requirement of my job.
I just don't think someone should criticise someone else's coherency or lack thereof when they can't even spell it.
so he must be well smart
A man whose political party was not elected to power, but now has my family’s destiny in his hands?
A man who has the power of life and death over me?
You propose an interesting constraint, however I will propose a counter constraint on you, as follows
I don't think that someone who I have never issued personal insults or offence to, should be able to suggest that I curtail my criticism of an elected public figure that I pay the wages of, unless that person offers some semblance of convincing argument or original thought or insightful opinion, on matters that are under discussion.
PS good luck on your mission to improve spelling and punctuation in e-space, such an endeavour and yourself are well matched.
I'm going home.
He's the prime minister, im just a bloke on the internet, one of the characteristics, ney joys, of internet chat appears to be people spelling things rong
one of the joys of internet chat is pulling other people up on their spelling and punctuation
.....im afraid thats another problem, i take things too seriously sometimes
Im going to run away
Read any thread about religion for proof.
to get stick than those from other religions. Not just on here but in general.
and with that, you've partly answered your own question.
coz it feels like it isn't
it's like ingrained culturally to h8 on christians becasuse they've been bellends for longer and more influentially here than other religions
(it's a terrible point)
Stewart Lee's book has a good rundown of/quotes the other reasons why Christians playing the victim card in this country is very often a pathetic sham.
is more like you believe in God lol what a moronic dicksplash.
Perhaps on dis (do educated white people with liberal values feel more justified or comfortable because Christians are the 'established majority' ?)
But any largescale studies of wider society would show religious minorities face more discrimination. This of course includes intra-religious as well as inter-religious intolerance.
What we can all agree is that dis isn't particularly open to religious belief and expression generally.
but we're talking about an obnoxious bell-piece that pretends to be a christian on an internet forum then pretends to get bullied.
Jesus loves you.
Always turning the other cheek
meowington does not seem in the slightest bit manly
However, I know that I wouldn't give another faith any more respect than I give Christianity (which is next to none).
like - 'uhhh why do you believe in God you moron?'
Whereas a non Christian faith would probably receive real dangerous hate, abuse and similar.
If we're talking generally.
that'll make it better
You're rooting for the guy, cos it's a new direction, etc. And there have been some flashes of high quality in the past, so you know he's capable. But you have that sinking feeling that it's just another dead end, and you're wishing he'd just plough the fertile furrow of those early years.
Bring back the cracker jokes!
It was a short book so i finished it INNNN ONE!
Used to be high quality?
Give that man a BBC3 sitcom
been proper ropey for ages now. it would be daft of him to even dream of a bbc three pilot these days. i can't help but root for him to come good though.
He thinks about it an feels a bit stupid. Like a kid
Does this happen?
Isnt that one of the twins om big brother? not even joking right now
No good can ever come of arguing about religion on the internet
can i ask how, as a christian, you feel about CG's faux christian act?
so a little bit of all three
in a really posh person's house in Cambridge. The church I was in was running Alpha and somehow I ended up on a meal-cooking rota. I messed up in the following ways:
- put about 3x too much cayenne pepper in the chilli (had to take the edge of it with mayo or something, but it was proper rank);
- broke the microwave plate in their microwave;
- drank squash out of their finest crystal tumblers.
I could tell that I was pushing the host's niceness to the limit.
If people want to believe in some comforting bullshit on their own terms then it's not an issue but as soon as there is an organisation and money is involved it is to the detriment of society.
I wouldn't go as far as killing anyone who is religious I doubt.
Still I don't believe freedom of speech/thought is an end in itself, if its promoted out of fear of falling into a scary dictatorship then it exists for the wrong reason.
what's your opinion on Adele?
ignore previous :)
So it makes me feel sad and slightly guilty that I happen to hold this conviction, though guilt can be misleading. I'm also aware of how on a surface level this seems really hypocritical but it has been a long day and I'm too tired to get into an argument about it.
go have a nap!
Worked 12 hours today it's made me lurch into a harrangue
pretty much everything in which human beings take comfort is to the detriment of society.
is probably at odds with most of you guys so we will just end at an impasse.
too much honking
