Do you wear a helmet?
Just going into town or to someone's house, nah.
IN THE COUNTRYSIDE: no
Although apparently you're more likely to get dead cycling in the countryside but fuck it.
Sometimes I'm hungover and forget though.
Going into town drinking: more often than I used to, only recently though.
Other: nah, not really.
In spite of that - I still think that cyclists, especially in London, who do not wear helmets are fucking mental for not doing so.
I wear a helmet snowboarding: it (unsurpisingly) tends to be much colder so head oveheating isn't so much of a problem.
But the evidence seems to suggest that if you made it law, it might actually harm the health of the population as a whole, and put cyclists at increased risk.
It's worth reading the fourth response to the article too, as that has some further points to add.
Would have to see the methodology translated to London's roads to be more convinced.
Think I read somewhere that head injuries from cycling are incredibly rare in the grand scheme of things. Majority of injuries are caused by cyclists getting crushed against railings aren't they?
where helmets offer little protection, unfortunately.
That even you can't bring me down
I've got fluoro socks on, too.
before i (maybe) do a sportive in august.
Stupid. Big. Head.
Even if I was just pootling along by the canal. I want to start using Boris bikes to get back into cycling, but I'd feel really weird cycling without a helmet and I don't want to buy one just to use it a couple of times then decide I cba with the hire bikes anyway. I wish the scheme would be extended further east, then I'd use it all the time and a helmet would be worth buying.
