all good large cities really. What's your favourite smaller city?
> not a city.
so there are only 17 cities in europe? an interesting point of view
small city between (say) 100,000 and (say) 1.5 million.
Generally not capitals etc.
Du brov nic
I want to live there one day
It does have an inferiority complex (slightly justified) compared to Manchester and Leeds. Also mid-sized bands rarely come here.
My favourite small city is Helsinki but it's really a medium city. It's a relatively small capital
but if you're cool that it can still be a smaller city despite that, then so be it
but good point, probably too large.
Lisbon - 500,000
Lisbon - met area 2.7 million
(The population's about the same size as Birmingham - New York, London and Paris are in a different league) , however, it still bigger than Lisbon and Stockholm if you're talking about population size, which most geographers/urban designers/planners would.
by quite some distance.
is my answer
I've been to Reykjavik. It's nice but overrated.
dusseldorf is better though
1.49m seems like a big city to me.
no-one cares how you define small cities
Beiber. I can't seem to delete that autocorrect fuckup.i am not feeling the love for Preston right now.
especially the LDR style metro system
Beautiful city sitting at the base of The Andes - you can eat and drink like a king for minimal $$$s. People are super nice too...
My girlfriend just couldn't get on board with it...
Old Spanish architecture, colourful buildings church ruins, cobbled streets, cosy rambunctious bars, all in the shadow of some massive volcanoes. Here's a pic http://www.hostalelmontanesantigua.com/Antigua/20060720111914.jpg
some amazing coffee farms to visit.
Antigua Cuxinales is one of my favourite coffees ever.
I like Norwich. Apart from the fact that it is so far from civilisation
Glasgow, Manchester, Vigo, Naples, buenos aires, Lyon.
i've been to america you know?
Barcelona (does that count as small? It feels small compared to Madrid)
Bologna (bit big?)
Santa Ana (El Salvador one)
San Cristobal de las Casas
I'm saying that's pretty damn big...
I'll change it to Tenby then
Brighton or Bruges are my choices.
also: Cadiz, Thessaloniki, Lubjana
Did you know that Leeds is bigger than San Francisco?
