I'm going to the Alleycat.
It's a dump.
No DISer would ever go there. It's hideous
and watch me make a fool of myself playing guitar for Anal Beard.
but I cant afford to go as it turns out :(
Has a fantastic jukebox and the grumpiest landlord in the western hemisphere. I love it.
i'll be there 6 til maybe 8 or so if you fancy coming
Loads of ales / craft beers, they're nearly all about £3.60, so decently-priced. Also they do a lovely pizza.
Bit of an odd layout though, and FULL of suits, obviously.
Usually end up in The Ship, relatively unsuity and unstudenty considering the location.
i'd give the seven stars a go
if you havent
I don't like it as much as my colleagues do, bit too try-hard bohemian. Excellent deadpan cockney barmaid though.
The landlady's cat was wearing a Ruff.
They tried to charge me a pound to start a tab.
But if I'm out drinking I'll always make sure I have cash
Are you playing in The Buffalo bar?
Erm, ha ha!
Yeah I don't mind the Famous Cock. I nearly stopped off there last night for a late one.
If I go
Hence I won't be going probably. But some mates drink in there every Friday.
It's cry-jerkingly awful. Last refuge of the classic 80s style pub scumbag.
Beer festival + hog roast = success
and later the telegraph.
good thread :)
But I doubt it.
We live right next to Dissenting Academy, but that's a bit too frustratingly try hard at times.
Our favourite is probably the Railway Tavern Ale House or the Snooty Fox. The Cellars has a fairly decent ale selection, but the atmosphere can be a bit 'cold'.
I used to live just round the corner from the Snoot.
The guy that DJs in the Dissenting academy DJ'd at our party a couple of weeks back. I quite like the Dissenting academy - it's a good place to go after the Hunter S and it opens quite late.
Quite like the Cellar and The Snooty Fox - although the food in the Snooty Fox is shite. The Alma is okay - the food is fantastic but the landlady is a right miserable old goat.
Giant pop art print of bob Dylan. Actually kind of miss the Nobody.
My mate Chris is the landlord. I get my hair cut there.
possibly the big society
i called you m8
the 7 was a typo
so we get to go in the Ewok garden.
another name for a minge?
But I don't think I'll stay in Glasgow tonight afterall.
Then probably port street beer house.
BACK OF BEYOND.
I was always disappointed when the Hogshead down that way got changed. Used to go there loads circa 2003-2006
Best spoons in the ding, that
because i'm DJing there tonight then working there tomorrow morning. But i get free beer as part of my fee so there are worse things to be doing.
It's a bit quiet and I'm bored so I'm going to play a run of Cum On Feel The Noize, Roadrunner, and Beginning To See The Light. If you were in Bath, you'd come to a night like that, right?
Proper old men vibe, great place
Then The Provenance
Even before the recent refurb.
if Im on my own
63 degrees (it's right under my hotel and i am meeting an old friend there in half an hour!)
The ruby lounge
<one of the three places in town that is open till 5>
Shite Wetherspoons but it is cheap and it's a nice walk from my house to there.
The Sussex Arms
(thought I'd clear that up as you will all be worried and fascinated in equal measure)
Although am now now home so probably doesn't count.
No wonder Forza wanted to move to London.
Should have gone to the Portsmouth Hoy or The Quay, but ended up drinking wine in pyjamas watching the thick of it.
Bit disappointing really.
It took over four hours for my tracks to hit the jukebox. Drank many Coopers green.
Shall be doing the same tonight
The Pet Shop Boys tonight, ya fucking dancer! :)
