On the Day of the Number of the Beast.
I was talking about Myspace, Polysics and Sheilas' Wheels on drownedinsound.com
...we all know that they're not allowed to sell car insurance at reduced premiums to women any more, don't we, following the EU ruling which came into law prohibiting gender `discrimination` of this nature late last year?
As a result, their recent adverts have been quite amusingly staid. Imagine being a business that has your USP ruled illegal. LOL.
that EU ruling is ridiculous
Primarily because of the inconsistencies it brings up around what constitutes a managed risk by an insurance firm, and what constitutes discrimination. The EU have decided that gender is a tool of discrimination with regards to insurance but it's pretty shaky territory... especially given that they can scientifically and mathematically justify that men have significantly more accidents than women.
i work in the annuity (pension) biz and we had to change everything we do because of this too because men got better annuity rates than women because men die earlier. the whole things is pretty annoying and ridiculous.
I got in a few arguments about whether the world was ending.
Probably having a right old time. Or working at Radcliffe Asda
experimenting with a fruit-only diet, and probably posting on Drownedinsound.com
did it stop you needing to shower or use deodorant?
The 7th of June was 2 days before the World Cup started...
And that's me drifted into a nostalgic haze for the day. See ya.
Probably spent all that money within the first week on booze and banter. Heady, halcyon days, those. To be young was very heaven.
Broken Social Scene, Simon & Garfunkel, We Are Scientists, The Go! Team, Patti Smith, The Libertines, Martha Wainwright, Massive Attack, Bob Dylan, Radiohead
This is probably the most practical use for my eight years of last.fm stats I've ever had.
I can't even remember what happened last week, let alone seven years ago.
This decision was largely made to pursue a relationship with a girl which was about to become transatlantic in the next month or so.
I was an idiot but a very happy idiot at the time. Pretty sure that on the exact day of the post I was Oxford-bound to see the girl in question for the first time in a month.
How on earth do you remember the date?
Wegottickets has a list of all the tickets I ever bought. This show was one of them.
Summer 2006 was probably the best summer of my life - halcyon days
so learning about vectors, introduction to calculus, textual analysis, Irish home rule and Chinese economic history.
and my Mum sent me a text telling me that my Nan had left me £4k in her will. Went home drunk, booked two holidays and bought a new ipod and digital camera. Cheers Nan. RIP.
It was scorching hot, the actual festival was a bit shit but it was a really good laugh.
The one that only existed so that Fox could release it on 6/6/6.
Can't really remember.
let me have a think
and bracing myself for unemployment. Doesn't sound like it, but actually: good times.
and consequently the birthday of Lucifer by sacrificing a (virgin) pig and eating it
Ok , so im home and humoursly happy :D. No job, no real pressures, just summer, music, muffin and pooh. I got some new feeling going on of late in that respect, not really sure what to do with them, soo im being kinda careful, or trying to be anyways.
Today i started production on new inku work, ensuring future music cant bitch at my timing this time :P Its going pretty well, but im aiming at atleast a finished track every 2 weeks, so that may not last.
i do need to stop saying the phrase "whats next" to myself though.
I have a new view :P which is making me wierdly euphoric, i guess im just a sucker for waddling ducks and slides. :D
oo and i bought a bmx :P but apparently im not allowed to put green tires on it *cries* :(

the circle pit for Clutch was a dustbowl. so right.
Scary stuff eh
Working at HMV weekends, then getting smashed in the week. Remember getting the nightmare on elm street boxset and watching them all one friday before going to bluenote, so maybe that.
I think I was at school in the daytime though.
I thought 'I think I was watching Jesu at the Star & Garter'
AND I ACTUALLY WAS!!!!!!
in a job I hated to go to a competitor at a job I would hate even more. Dating a total maniac, getting drunk a lot, probably eating loads of chocolate buttons at my desk.
Probably revising for my A-Levels, or more likely playing Pro Evo 5 on the PS2. Or in the William Cobbett pub in Farnham, getting hammered on Snakebite. Halcyon days.
