If only I had kept up with the current job market so I knew what it was like. Any ideas? (IT testing)
That's a decent chunk of money but it won't support you (I presume) if you have to then spend two years finding a suitable replacement job.
will agencies tell the truth? looking a the jobs available doesnt tell you how ,many applicants there are.
Get your CV out there on a speculative basis.
if you turn down the voluntary, what are the chances of you having to go compulsorily anyway in the long run (and will the package for a compulsory be as good?)
that's a lot of money, but... like PO says - it's not enough to support you AND FAMILY for a couple of years.
i#d jump at that - but they i have zero commitments
might just be me though
I'd suffer binge-related death within a week
I'd say take it. In my somewhat limited experience, compulsory and not lucrative compulsory redundancy usually follows voluntary megabucks redundancy anyway.
take the free money and do something you'd rather do
You hate it.
Quit and do a bit of contracting.
