What's that then
had a premonition about this yesterday
in the form of a classic 0-reply thread
This is *hopefully* nothing.
good luck LME
can we not talk about it?
divertin' our flights
Had a bomb scare in 2011 and was diverted to Istanbul

at the moment. Heightened tension and all that.
didn't even get evacuated.
Did I put the bins out wrong again?
I DO! I saw the police had closed the road off - assumed it was a traffic accident.
my colleagues came back very excited from the Co-op at lunchtime.
Also, HI DARCY! *waves*
Hiiiiii! I'm at Maltings Place which is off Tanner St and Tower Bridge rd.
I went to Co-Op too, but there was sod all there so I walked all the way to Tescos in the rain. Bad times.
Never use the Co-op.
The co-op is seconds away though.
We should all go for a pint one evening at that pub you mentioned on fb!
what more do you want?
I've decided my local is now Simon the Tanner on Long Lane. Good pub that.
which is just round the corner from the Mudlark by the looks of it on google maps. I sometimes go to the Mudlark, but it's nothing special.
Not been to Simon The Tanner, but it's only a few mins walk from workl so let's do that one evening. And take pictures. And create a thread to post the pictures in. And watch andyvine fall apart.
I've been to Simon The Tanner (it's nice) but not the Mudlark.
we normally end up going to the Woolpack, which is alright but a bit full of suit-types.
I never read that thread. AND NOW I NEVER WILL.
That's where we normally go after work. It's a bit personality less but has a big beer garden with the massive umbrella, which is pretty handy.
Let's all go to the Simon of Tanner at some point then (can't do the next couple of week as I'm off to Cyprus but I'll try and organise something when I'm back)
I won't be banning myself any time soon, because I'm not a CHODE.
And two minutes from my office.
(and work just off Tower Bridge Road)
Look at us, LME, all palling around together.
then every train that left Cally Road the platform dude went along, door by door, and asked people if there was any unattended luggage, and there were police at all the big stations.
Thing is, he did it in a really half-arsed way, and most people were too engrossed in their headphones or whatever to even respond. Struck me as a pretty pointless exercise, and had there been a bomb I wouldn't have liked to be the guy who couldn't really be arsed looking for it.
This anecdote has been bottled up for a few years but it hasn't got any better.
and I wanted to take a photo of an installation in the main hall, so I put my bag on the floor next to me. Looked through the viewfinder and realised I was too far away, so I took two steps forward, took the photo, then turned round and the bag was gone. I was three feet away from it, at most, for ten seconds. Got it back in the end but the guy heavily implied that it was my fault.
Thanks for reading.
so the security could deal with a suspicious package which was clearly some poor person's forgotten suitcase.
reminding people not to walk off without any of their luggage.
like when one of the passengers used a quit-smoking aid on that coach on the M6 Toll.
