quite fancy having some more club nights in my pub i reckon
Got some 'avails' at The Camden Head (in Camden), from 11pm - 3am.
First and last (or 4th, if you insist) Fri of each month, and 1st and 3rd Sat of each month.
Months: Jun, Jul, then Sep onwards (none in Aug due to The Camden Fringe needing the room to store all their stuff).
SO if you have an idea for a night then email me and all that. First-time promoters welcome! adie@camdenbars.com
We have aircon AND air ventilation these days and the floor has yet to collapse.
Also, Camden Town Brewery on tap and other nice beers.
how much you willing to pay?
ain't no party like an EDL party
i'll just invite all EDL and let them dance away
You own a pub?!
no.
it's just easier to say it's mine :-P
Oh
I was quite excited for you there.
Thought you'd quit the rat race and bought a pub. That would be ace / stressful. But still cool.
Having worked for publicans for four years now, I know I could not handle the hassles of pub ownership.
:-(
... or afford to buy one anway
Don't ruin my dream of owning a country pub
drinking real ale and wearing tweed all day.
I'm thinking of starting a night called 10: 0 to 9,
Where I play tracks by artists whose name begins with the same number.
Think it's got legs?
Serious question: Does it have a backline for gigs?
no. it's an acoustic venue anyway, for live music.
I guess I should clarify this is a DJs only night due to only having a licence for live stuff til 11pm.
But if anyone wants to do live (acoustic / semi-acoustic BASICALLY NO FULL DRUM KITS) from September then that's possible too, with or without a club night after.
Ah, okay. Will bear it in mind if we have any more folk/drone kind of acts.
Where is the Camden Head?
Kilburn
^sarcasm
bout time the good ship had some competition
Good luck shadyadie
some would say Islington.
not this one, this is one on
CAMDEN HIGH STREET, CAMDEN TOWN, CAMDEN-SHIRE.
thanks.
Is there any kind of back line you can use there?
Drumkit etc
THIS THREAD IS GOING AS WELL AS COULD BE EXPECTED.
sorry.
Is that a rule change as I'm sure i saw bands with full drums etc a few years ago there
or is that just before 11?
had to change the rules
was too noisy for the room and a neighbour who likes to complain a lot.
I bet there isnt
can I do one please?
I have two ideas:
1. 'oh good it's ohgood night tonight' - I play songs I like for 4 hours - NO DANCING
2. 'Kelly's Hip-Hop Deli Counter Encounter' - I (operating under the name 'Kelly') play some hip-hop CDs. You get a ticket with a number on when you arrive. When your number is called out it's your turn to dance, so dance. Then stop dancing when your turn is over. Perhaps you'll get another turn later.
one more idea
3. 'ohgood's friend's DJ nite' - my friend Andy plays some 50s and 60s records while I look on approvingly. SOME DANCING
number 2 is a winner
Perhaps.
I like the first one.
Whilst I'm here can I suggest:
THE BISCUIT BARREL
I barrel roll around the floor whilst 'Gravediggaz 6 Feet Deep' is played from beginning to end (incl skits). Clubbers are encouraged to shout 'Biscuit' sporadically.
P.S There will be no actual biscuits.
:D
my mates from Some Weird Sin
often look for different venues. Camden would be perfect for them and they always draw in a big crowd. Let me know if you want me to put you in touch with them.
clubnights are for victims.
Full Leather Jacket
Get in cheap in a leather jacket.
Vietnam themed cocktails.(Agent Orange, Napalm, etc)
DJs go mental.
No soap party required but this could be arranged.
I am serious.
