Even though I know you're being hypothetical, I still can't imagine a situation where this would ever be implemented or practical, or accepted by enough people.

head down, carry on, embrace your free time vs. refuse to work for someone else's profit
does the entrepreneurial imperative make selfish cunts of us all? like, if I were to start a business, even with all my communitarian principles, would I be sending out a message of supersession, of my own greater importance? would it depend on what the business was or whether I had employees? would I be vindicating the unfair nature of capitalism? or would I simply be asserting my right to defend my corner and work for my own sustenance?
Having to wrestle with moral dilemmas like that one.
where's your promise of gold, of incense, of Paradise? where are the genuflecting serfs? the thousand years of supremacy? the mountain of cash?
