i've never been to any. some of them look quite nice, though.
Great Cumbrae (Millport) is nice for a day/weekend.
Both are accessible from the train network, although you'd probably want a car to get about on Mull if you want to see what it's got.
Islay is amazing thanks to it being decently inhabited but big enough to wander about all day without seeing anyone. It also has a brilliant amount of distilleries to go to.
although not small relatively speaking.
Always wanted to go to Mull.
on Lamb Holm, population 0.
a marine research centre there. The course was bloody dull. The island and the locals were very nice though.
40.4 square miles
Absolutely lovely place. I'd definitely recommend it.
St Columba's Bay (and the walk to it) might be my favourite place in Scotland.
If it ever became feasible. Some of the islands may be a little too isolated though.
set on a Scottish island? may have been Orkney or Shetland.
i used to love it, this is bugging me!!
(Tobemory, Isle of Mull)
just look at the whisky that comes from it
you can't touch that
Same land mass, so I guess it counts as the one island. If you like walking, mind-blowing scenery, extravagant weather, whisky, excellent people, general weirdness and (surprisingly) getting fucked up on mushrooms & hash, I can't recommend it highly enough.
