Has anyone been watching this? How do these Scandinavian bazzers keep doing it? Great stuff. Slick as fuck.
This one for example, follows a pretty standard thread of existentialist copper, vices and all, tracking down bad guys as part of a specially-organised unit, but still it feels like more of an experience watching it, a more polished product. I don't know if these things have particularly brilliant ensemble casts like the very best American dramas, but it's something about the pace of the storylines, the minimialist, sometimes throwaway dialogue and the filming techniques themselves, idk. You feel like you're watching something special, though, aye, whereas over here you'd just get Bradley Walsh telling a few jokes and that.
No Bradley Walsh in sight
not a huge fan of most of the characters and I'm not convinced 100% about the plot lines yet
but i think you need foils like that generally.
the guy who plays the main lead's pretty impressive, and the senior female copper, but with a few of the others i get the impression they've deliberately tried to make them a bit lighter. for me, that works, they can't all be moody, existentialist Scandinavians.
the main guy's good, and I like a couple of the others. that pointless magical cleaner is pretty entertaining. chavez is kinda irritating and the lateral thinker is incredibly irritating I think
from the first two plot lines (or whatever), I reckon it could be slightly tighter and more concise, at say 2 hour long episodes instead of 2 90 minute things
