So I've been reading about this trying to work out exactly what the deal is. I understand the basics - you get an energy efficiency assessment, agree energy saving measures in your home, then pay for them through your energy bills, which will in theory be lower.
Sounds good. But is it actually a big deal? Is it any different from just getting a loan? Are the interest rates lower? What has the government actually done? Do they contribute to the costs? Or have they just created an accreditation system?
