I think Watford will sneak into 2nd next week, otherwise I'd have them down as favourites. It looks like we could end up with Brighton vs Palace over two legs, which would be easily the biggest set of games Brighton have played in a long old time. They have the momentum but could they cope with the occasion? Get the feeling they'd suffer during the first game at Selhurt but could turn it around in front of their biggest ever crowd at the Amex. In Form Bolton to beat someone at Wembley in any case.
There's no way Brentford will recover from today - we (Pompey) went there the other day and they seemed to turn it round through sheer force of belief but that will have dissipated today - they'll go out to Swindon in the semis. Sheffield were absolutely tosh at Fratton Park the other day and seem to be in a bit of bother, so Yeovil to triumph and make it out of Division 3.
Not too sure what's going on in Division 4 these days but I'd back Aidy Boothroyd to get Northampton up. Similarly, the Blue Square Premier is a mystery to me but I'll have Newport to go up, just to complete Pompey's "NEWCASTLE TO NEWPORT COUNTY IN FIVE SEASONS" humiliation.
kind of feel sorry for chesterfield cos they're clearly the best team (after us and gillingham) in the league
Watford (or Brighton if Watford sneak in automatically)
I mean we don't know for certain which teams are going to be in for all of them yet.
they overlap. League 1 & 2 play-offs start on Tues/Weds, we'll know the finalists of the BSP play-offs tomorrow.
Think it will actually be: Bolton, Sheff Utd, Northampton, Kidderminster
Championship: Brighton or Palace (Watford for automatic). Could be the most interesting set of playoffs at this level for ages.
League One: Sheff Utd
League Two: Bradford (though if they don't York get to face them again)
Unless they are automatically promoted, in which case Bolton.
I don't know a great deal about the form in Leagues 1 & 2, but I'd prefer Sheffield Utd and Bradford respectively to go up.
As for the Conference, I want Wrexham to go up, but I expect Kidderminster will.
Bolton are that team who always sneak in having come from the bottom. In hindsight if we had kept Dougie we would have gone up automatically or even Champions.
It looks very likely to be Palace Brighton in the semi. I,m hoping we can win our game in hand at Millwall beat Peterborough and Wolves grab a point at Brighton so we at least have the home leg last. They beat us 3-0 at theirs but we also beat them 3-0 at home.
Exiles back in the league, a Wrexham - Newport final would be brilliant
