Name a comedy trilogy where every film in it is good.
I enjoyed the Hangover 1 and 2, but a third is surely pushing it.
though they weren't intended as a trilogy.
Are the Back To The Future Films a trilogy?
BTTF... MAYBE. Good call. The third one was a lot worse than one and two though.
flying train fans 'til they die
Not a patch on the first 2, but good enough to answer the question.
the third one is the best one
But the second one is absolute dog shit
It's a great trilogy, and I don't think anyone would deny that the second one is by far the worst one, but it's got it's funny moments.
I didnt think it was... :s
it's not a trilogy
second answer good point.
Always assumed it was a die hard style romp
I mean, sure, it is probably a comedy. But it's not.
(but they're not)
I've never seen a lazier, more obvious cash-in in my life.
Can I have my money back?
I didn't spend any but I'm a bit hard up.
Shall we say a fiver, that should do it.
I would count evil dead 2 as a remake of the first not a sequel.
Is anyone going to bother with the remake?
It doesn't look too bad to me..
Ignore what people say about TS2, I think it's good.
That encompasses Toy Story II. The characters are all dicks.
just ignore him, he's clearly an idiot
that says 'toy story 2 was okay'
that's a hell of a paradigm though. Especially the stereotypes one because that can be incredibly subtle but still present
which isn't really a "genre" but... hey ho. Seeing as Ferris Bueller's Day Off slots very neatly into that - and that's laugh out loud funny in places, as well as being genuinely touching.
always features in top 10 lists of critic's films and that is genuinely hilarious. Excellent comedy.
thus far is there any form of art that you'd consider laugh out loud funny? Because now I'm trying to think back to how much I actually laugh at films and I'm unsure.
One of the few films I've actually, genuinely, laughed out loud at.
and that prevents them understanding why things are funny.
Get your boyfriend to sit beside you next time you watch some old thing Buster Keaton did and have him explain to you why it's hilarious. You're probably go 'oh right. yeah that is the best'
So I ignore it or I'd never have any fun. I don't really see why films are MORE obvious though.
Pre emptive bants
But we're in the murky realms of subjectivity here.
How about something like Secrets and Lies. Tremendous film and very, very funny.
if you don't count animation
any reason you're discounting all those varied styles out of hand?
Mon Oncle/the other Mr. Hulot ones
Old things Buster Keaton did
Dumb and Dumber (bit stupid for some, though)
loads and loads
What a shit list
I find the list itself funnier than most films. May have to leave office.
Apart from Dumb and Dumber there isn't a bad film on there.
Airplane? I shit Airplane
the autopilot gag never gets old for me. Maybe I've just got an undeveloped sense of humour- I found fucking Role Models funny after all.
I've just watched most of those recently and found them funny, or know that they're generally agreed to be funny. They're all better than The Hangover fgs.
#1: pissed himself whilst waiting for the #47 to Chattanooga
i keep spitting up coffee whenever i read this post and i finished the cup 20 minutes ago
i'm a broken man
Lolita doesn't help
Plains, Trains, and Automobiles
- the Ace Ventura trilogy (the animated series is the third 'film')
- the Bill & Ted trilogy (the animated series is the third 'film')
- the Ghostbusters trilogy (not really, the animated series isn't canon)
Even the crap Irish accent is good.
Great film that
making a big letter c with their hands and just shouting COMEDY at each other
You can pretend it's a real event from your actual real life if you like. Like usual.
Go outside for a bit.
I don't think any of those are regarded as shit films. Can you see how it's a bit confusing sitting here watching everyone laughing, with no idea why?
Anyway, yeah, I think I will get out for a bit.
Dunno what everyone else's problem is with it!
and they all wanted to watch a comedy film, so you asked a friend to bring one, and they brought Lethal Weapon (1, two or 3) then you would have one room of baffled and disappointed cousins on your hands.
MR DANNY GLOVER?
I presume Danny brings copies of Lethal Weapon everywhere he goes so you'd get an annoying double-up
Nightmare when I have him AND Gene Hackman round on the same evening.
Gene's a Lloyd man
I can't remember what 33 1/3 is like, but the first two are pretty funny.
but had a noticeable dip in quality
or else they wouldnt make so many
