Which is a really cool idea.
which is a post office.
in run-down shopping centres mainly. My first thought is that none of them were big enough to fit in if you were stranded somewhere and just needed a kip.
then theyre absolute cunts
But yeah, generally this.
alone and first thing in the morning!
I don't need an image like that in my wankbank.
misses the point, chum
It's no different to spending 2 minutes setting up a PO box as your address on your amazon account surely?
i've always thought that PO boxes had to be hired for, like, a month at a time.
also, that they are actual boxes.
now going to do some research
i might be wrong. let me know
"Generally, post office boxes are rented from the post office either by individuals or by businesses on a basis ranging from monthly to annual, and the cost of rent varies depending on the box size. "
so, you don't see a difference between a one off use of a post box and renting one by the month?
it saddens me that you can't
which you can then pick up during post office opening hours.
costs about a quid or so, and you have to wait for the package to be delivered to your house, then you have to wait 24 hours for it to be confirmed back at your sorting office, then you have to request it gets transferred to the post office, then you have to pick it up at a time that might not be much more convenient
It goes back to the delivery office and you can either pick it up from there, or arrange for it to be redelivered.
You only have to pay if you want it sent to a different address don't you?
but for a lot of people going to a sorting office is ridiculously inconvenient. shit opening hours, and for many people a couple of miles round trip.
you move to London, become ignorant and like to pretend you're too busy to even occasionally let on to your neighbours.
while equally desperately trying to be London that it's painful?
sorry totally must have mixed my cities up
one in my local Somerfield. Not entirely sure how it works, presumably they just get it sent directly there? It makes sense in th future to have some arrangement like this, around Christmas the sorting office had a massive queue of people all waiting to pick up Amazon packages. These must have been delivered when they were out, then back to the depot, waiting to be picked up when they all knew noone would be in at that time. If they could have some option to have stuff sent direct to a locker type place with a code you put in that would be great.
I just get stuff sent to work personally...
Probably have a greater chance of catching people in with packages, etc. The postman doesn't have to be up at silly AM...
where they don't even bother trying to deliver it, they just take it straight to the depot. It could go out with some slip of paper which does get sent home so you know its there I suppose. Around christmas the amount of parcels they must take out in the van and return straight back with must be huge.
Feels like you're doing something proper top secret with the maximum security compounds they have.
but this is a superb idea for people unlucky enough to live in a place where Royal Mail are turbomongs.
I live in the city centre and there’s a Post Office about 5-10 mins walk from my flat (the one off Deansgate near the Town Hall).
But instead of going there, my parcels are delivered into the heart of Old Trafford, which is about 30 minutes walk away.
Also, the postmen don’t knock on our door sometimes. They just post the thingy through and do one. They’re down there with metties and estate agents for me.
