Recently used the Emirates cable-car to perform this journey. It's much, much better than the London Eye, for a tenth of the price, with commanding views of industrial Beckton (wild and magnificent hinterland) and The Valley
plus you're not endorsing Boris Johnson's vanity project.

which is basically close the doors, press the go button. it automatically stops the trains at the station.
but I get it maybe 80% of the time, as opposed to the rare and magical moments when a DLR front seat is free
I hardly use the DLR so it's still about about an exciting as Alton Towers. Well American Adventure Theme park at least.
you think you do but about 6 years ago, I went back. It was to be the most harrowing experience. Awful place.
There's a ride sponsored by JCB. That was the highlight :(
