I could put it along with F1, snooker and cricket as a good all-day sport to watch hungover and have naps to. It seems to flit between different people so it is kind of hard to follow. It will be one person trying to chip a ball around a tree then someone taking ages to do a really short putt then someone whacking the ball of a tee. The crowd seem to really get into it, I think I'd only get animated if it was a hole in one.
But F1 is a horrible, horrible sport to watch when hungover. Can't think of anything worse than all those bright colours and a constant high pitched drone.
Maybe F1 when only mildly hungover. It is more about wanting a lazy day in front of the TV, probably even with it on mute and some music on while the sun streams in through a crack in the curtains.
i still watch it sometimes though
There I've said it.
He even had me driving balls down the garden (into a net) last summer. Wouldn't mind going for a slog on a driving range, but don't see the fun in trudging around a golf course trying to knock it into a hole.
Is your gf's Dad on DiS?
The only sport-related way to spend a nice summery day is either playing or watching cricket (ideally with a few beers).
like it's a sign of being successful or having status. They might also read GQ and Maxim magazines.
On the day they play golf they put their clubs on the lawn of the front garden of their new build, next to their silver Mazda which is parked in front of their garage (double, door is open).
Then when they are playing the round of golf with their buddy Ian they will talk business and stocks and shares, because that's what you do when playing golf.
Then they will go home to Anne and watch Top Gear together. They might talk about buying a new car or building a conservatory. A car magazine is read before bedtime.
I get a sort of sitting-in-a-car-that-reeks-of-'new-car-smell'-on-a-too-warm-day nausea just thinking about golf
now the DLR smells like that too
you know there's a trash festival in Canning Town? I saw it
(I think that's what I'm supposed to day)
