who else was made to watch the lord of the flies (1963) in gcse english?
Rock Box, The Agincourt...I didn't go to either of those places on account of being 8.
I wonder if it still has paintings of Korn all over the walls.
I thought it was so so so boring
Does anyone remember when the beeb (or c4 or someone) did an `experiment` where they put a load of boys into a house unattended? It was great. About 5 minutes until they'd formed tribes and were trying to spear hedgehogs in the garden.
Conversely, most boys seemed to love it when they read it at school.
Hmmmm, interesting? Only if you're a man.
and so's the book. The ending of the book is particularly amazing, and really similar to the end of A Clockwork Orange (the book NOT the film) in the way it's adults dismissing what's so real and terrifying to kids as just *being silly/playing games*
Every time I go back I'm always surprised at how it's managed to become even more boring.
used to be a regular at the Cube 20 years ago... : o
