Wear the same uniform as regular police officers
Have the same powers and responsibilities
Enjoy all the variety of policing London
Come from all walks of life
Volunteer 16 hours of their time a month
Applicants who have previously submitted an online application for the role of special constable must register with a different email address to the one previously supplied. Applicants who register with the same email address will be unable to submit a new application."
Essentially encouraging absolute no-marks who fail the application first time round to apply again under a different email address?
Good grief. It's harder to sign up for DiS.
- They don't wear the same uniform as regular police officers
- They have absolutely no powers and/or responsibilities
- They can't possibly enjoy all the variety of policing London by virtue of not actually policing it
Fair enough, they can come from all walks of life to volunteer for 16 hours a month.
Specials have the same powers as a (normal) constable (can arrest people) and do normal work, rather than just sitting at the front of Asda handing out leaflets(which is what PCSOs are responsible for)
i'd just arrest all my mates for the shabs
Once he jumped in the back of a police van, only for the van to immediately speed off and him fall out the back of it.
Also, great username.
Does this alongside his normal job. He doe aboy 59 hours with us, as he always works in the evenings, the he is a special constable every other Saturday. Its not strictly 16 hours a month though, as long as you do set hours in a year.
He also does have the same powers as a normal police officer and has a warrant card.
a bit shit really
I guess it's just like the TA for police? Although do you get paided to be in the TA?
if you complete the required number of days hours/service
(or a chocolate bar)
has made them think theres alot of people who want to do it. If theyre exactly the same as 'the police' it cheapens the entire 'police force'. The community ones can at least be differentiated.
where does one sign up?
Do you get paid?
