City break, bit o culture, cheap flights, reasonable weather this time of year
But Jersey is quite nice. There's lots to do if you can hire a car to get around.
So I don't think the Channel Islands weather will be up to much yet. Ignore my first post.
Jersey feels like a claustrophobic version of The Isle Of Wight only with monies...
Zero indie points.
some indie points
Bilbao, Basque Spain.
Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Poland.
the worst holiday i've ever been on
hahaha i said gdansk for nothing
Both cheap as anything, really interesting cities, culture, great food, cheap beer or alcohol and good nightlife
It snowed none stop in Budapest and pissed it down all the time I was in Rome.
cheap as fuck flights but not a cheap place by any means. heaven on earth doe
Fly to Pisa and it's about 30 minutes by train. I was there for a few days at the beginning of November last year and it was gorgeous.
Can't believe people just head to Pisa, which is very overrated.
Marseilles, Florence, Krakow...
I had to give my husband a piggy back there after a misunderstanding involving what tennent's lager was.
a very welcoming people
Damn tablet. Dubrovnik is a great place to go for a long weekend, a few years back I went to Split and Dubrovnik, but Dubrovnik is especially beautiful.
there is absolutely nowhere in Europe that meets these requirements. Sorry.
might still be a bit nippy though
is lovely, and Sicily in general is too
nice size, mostly walkable, affordable, friendly place, tourist friendly (in a good way) without being too touristy. I'd avoid Paris, didn't like it or the people. I, rather like the couple in the President Brie advert, would rather sit in a cheese shop eating brie than visit the Eiffel Tower again. You just get hassled to buy stuff and have to spend 9 Euros on a coffee.
Bloody lovely little city
Dead nice weather, amazing tapas, the fricking ALHAMBRA, Turkish baths. My favourite European city by a long way.
...I would suggest heading south east - maybe Chisinau, Valetta, Tirana, Istanbul, somewhere like that?
Alternatively, and while it's not in Europe, how about somewhere like Marrakesh?
What is that place like? I imagine its a soviet block style hell hole with the odd cracking building, but if you are recommending it that opinion must be bollocks
Well, the centre is at least - it is surrounded by a ring road and plenty of soviet era tower blocks, but who wants to explore the suburbs anyway?
Large parks, 19th century architecure, piazas, al fresco eating and drinking, the national stadium right in the centre of town, cheap food and drink, good weather, super attrative women - what's not to like?
From Chisinau it's easy to get out into the countryside and visit the vineyards, which are possibly the best I've been to. Milestii Mici has the world's largest wine cellars. Cricova is probably the real gem though.
Skopje was similar, lovely city, easily worth 3 days
...Transnistria, which is sort of part of Moldova, on the same trip. Found my previous post here:
What a place
bruges is a bit too chocolate boxy for me
funds available mean that it might end up being next year.
going camping beyond ullapool instead.
i meant it's a nice place to go
Sarajevo would be my offbeat pick, gorgeous place
budapest is good. bruges also. vienna (obvz). ljubljana is good but would probably be better late spring or summer.
