How did you find it?
doing one as part of a research grant.
to be honest, it sucks, and it's a rite of passage rather than something that's particularly enjoyable. I'd only suggest doing one if it's crucial for your career aspirations.
Don't really know what to expect at the moment (but have a pretty good idea!)
Can be quite isolating but definitely strengthens you as a person. Opens up a whole set of careers you wouldn't be able to access without one.
As long as you do one for the right reasons (i.e. not because you just don't know what to do next) then its worthwhile.
Have mixed feelings about the experience, really. But it's done now.
I really enjoyed doing mine... though I really don't like my thesis anymore. As a piece of writing, that is.
although there's something about being trapped inside your own head with a thesis subject for 3+ years that can really get you down. But writing a great big fuck-off piece of work is pretty satisfying, and at the end of it you're a world expert on flow patterns in flat-bottomed wheat silos or whatever.
