they've lost the plot with ads now.
He still comes reeling through the door
never used it before
it's almost as if you don't want them to continue making content
with the odd clip thrown in here and there if someones posted stuff on youtube. So I'm probably more whiling to watch ads/skip ads for content I know I'll like.
At the end of the day though Youtube is far from being a 'right' and if you want to encourage better content in things you're interested in then I suggest you support those content providers who do it well as much as possible.
The is literally no valid argument 'For' Adblocker on youtube that isn't purely selfish especially as their ad content never has melware in it.
as they try to get around Adblocker and make try to make up from the lost revenue from those who use it.
And sometimes ads seem to last longer than the actual video I want to see.
Of course advertising's needed to pay for content, but you know, if there's a way around it so I can save a few minutes a day then I'll use it. And Adblocker's not illegal right?
but it's sort of payment for the content you're about to see, no one has the 'right' to any of this content. It's not currently illegal but it really wouldn't surprise me if it does become so in the near future as it's denying sites income which isn't great in the long term.
i don't understand though, who exactly is stuck for cash? youtube itself?
yeah i think we use youtube in completely different ways, duck. most of the time i click-through to listen to songs that have been linked from an article i'm reading. there could be a lot of these links and i don't tend to watch/listen to the whole video so you can imagine having to wait for an ad to finish for every second link gets pretty irritating.
subscriptions? excuize me, a baking powder? not my thing really. very rare i'll seek out a video as opposed to just click into it from something else.
as for your 'The is literally no valid argument 'For' Adblocker on youtube that isn't purely selfish especially as their ad content never has melware in it.', i'm not generally using my laptop for humanitarian means
It is annoying but it's only 5 secs.
I wasn't trying to vigorously defend my rhetorical position on ads on YouTube. I realise they're needed, I'm just lazy & like to take shortcuts so I use AdBlocker. I know morally I'm probably in the wrong.
that's what i'm saying, it's accelerated in the last month or so.
from making their stupid cat videos, etc., was simply to instal adblock, i would've done it yonks ago.
do it to the wasters
but youtube are seriously taking the piss at the moment.
Google just banned Adblocker Plus from the Google Play store, which has caused a bit of a to-do. You can still download it for Android from their website though I think.
