Pudding lovers of DiS: I need help
I need to make some sort of pudding on Friday, but my oven's fucked and I don't have a microwave. This leaves me with a gas hob, a fridge/freezer, and my wits.
What can I make that won't be shit?

Bowl of rice
Panna cotta
Dead easy, can be done quite far in advance, tastes good and looks impressive.
Tub of Cornish ice cream?
Everyone loves that.
chocolate mousse
or a variant there of, with biscuit base, fruit pieces, honeycomb etc
cheesecake
Good suggestions so far, ta
How difficult is fudge? Could I do fudge?
Fudge isn't a pudding.
I'm open to anything that's vaguely in the dessert/confectionery-core genre
popcorn
dip strawberrys in melted chocolate
Chocolate moussee
Is rice pudding something that can be done on the hob?
Clotted cream rice pudding.
it's better if you bake it
Obviously.
But it sounds like something that could be done on the hob.
Do you have access to a grill Mr OP? Could probably finish it off under there with a bit of brown sugar or something. Kind of like a creme brulee but nice cos its rice pudding.
The grill is still mostly working, so that's a possibility
Cheesecake
can't go wrong with cheesecake.
Some cheese on a plate
Some nuts in a bowl
heat a pan on a hob
pour a bag of mini eggs into it. stir them around while they get hot for about 15 minutes so you can really see what happens. then pour them into a bowl. they might stay hard on the outside but go soft in the middle or they might all break and become one gloopy chocolate thing. not sure.
call it 'jimmy eggs'
angel delight
if
you have access to a blow lamp/torch you could do a baked alaska, eton mess etc
or even use it to add the finishing touches to jimmy eggs
Steamed sponge pudding
With cream or custard.
The man is a toad, but this recipe is really good
