if your email was firstname.lastname@example.org but you gave someone the email email@example.com, would you still get the email through, or are they different addresses and there's no crossover with .com and .co.uk email addresses?

My idiot ex-landlady always used to send emails to firstname.lastname@example.org instead of .co.uk. Even when I responded from .co.uk, she'd still email .com back. Getting angry thinking about her now.
