It's Monday morning. Lets get ready to grumbllllllllllllllllllllllle
Monday has just happened in your fucking face.
Weekend was good. London zoo: penguins. Then Japanese food and sake.
Just saw in the paper that Terry Pratchett's daughter is a computer game script writer. Best.
Tell me of life in all its inanities.

It was light when I arrived in Glasgow at 7am this morning.
This means it's now officially SUMMER.
SUMMER!
IT'S REAL COLD THOUGH
I accidentally clicked into the football thread a few minutes ago
what a terrible way to start (well, end for me) a Monday!
Hey, that cuts deep :(
Personally, i think it's one of the finest football threads these boards have ever seen.
I'm sorry for your loss :(
Odd weekend.
I have a sleeping debt of about 12 hours I reckon. Can't concentrate on anything. URGH.
Yesterday afternoon my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to buy a new telly. Went to John Lewis, picked it out, but bloody out of stock, wasn't it? So disappointing. Oh well.
First day back at work after a week off
Thankfully the Singstar mics and 7 games I ordered for a party in a couple of weeks were here waiting for me which has cheered me up a bit. Gonna sing my little heart out tonight.
Hiya
Woke up at 6:15 by my Grandma on the phone this morning wishing me HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'd forgotten it was March. I pegged some washing up onto a clothes line yesterday for the first time in my life. Felt good.
HB SAD!
My card should be with you any day, bff.
Thanks for the warning
I'll duct taped my letterbox up
I'll duct tape your [redacted] shut
Felicem diem natalem!
That's right, I can only remember the accusative case, what of it?
Whhheeeeey
felix dies natalis tibi is a mangling version I always (once) used! Cheers!
HB SAD!
You saddo.
Thanks!
You kept that quiet, you rogue!
Happy birthday! x
I'd actually forgotten.
Thanks! :D
Getting quite forgetful at the moment arent you?
Saturday @ 12pm being another example. At least I had Jimmy/Stu/Eck. The chinless wonder was back as well.
I felt terrible about this :'(
I was an absolute state Friday and didnt wake up until 5 on Saturday. Im so sorry (CW is back when Im not there?.....well THATS a fucking coincedence)
It's all good man, I took her home and made her with baby.
So totally PUNK'ED you
So near my birthday aswell
I wonder if her lack of a chin genes will override your chin genes and your baby will just look like a massive piece of mashed potato?
Leave it.
Wish i could do Italics on this site, Happy Birthday
:)
weekend.
great.
Friday: took the dog to get his toenails clipped, had KFC and then took him a walk up the Braes. Then got drunk and watched Perks of Being A Wallflower.
Saturday: went and bought an acoustic guitar and built a chest of drawers. sat out in my garden and drank Asahi Super Dry.
Sunday: Slow day. Finished the second drawers and watched four episodes of Game of Thrones season 2.
This week: applying to become a chartered engineer and hopefully a promotion at work.
Tbh the promotion is a sure thing
I talked to Dave in accounts and he was all "that's a sure thing"
:P
Did the dog have a KFC with you?
i ate it outside
so yes
did the dog
get a bit of spit on the kfc but you were too hungry so you ate it anyway and ate the dog's spit?
First day back after 2 weeks of being signed off
not one person has said hello. I love this place.
I went to see this on Friday. It was great.
http://www.artplayer.tv/video/557/chorus-by-ray-lee
I have stomach cramps, probably all the steriods* I'm taking
Lovely, quiet weekend, exactly what i was looking for
*not really, just protein shakes.
Going to do some art.
I like art.
Maaaaarnin'
Was asleep by 9pm last night, I'd forgotten how it feels to not be tired!
Expecting a call back about a job I went for a few weeks ago at some point this week. Fairly confident about it (felt alright in the interview and there are 60 odd positions going).
Going out for a meal for my dad's birthday tonight at a really nice pub, in one of the roughest bits of town.
I have an exam about pensions on Tuesday so my weekend was like this:
Saturday: learn about pensions
Sunday: learn about pensions
I am not in work today, think I might learn about pensions for a change
I'm wearing a hat that looks like a dildo

About the most interesting thing I did all weekend was make ginger tea with actual ginger
Seriously.
also, bought a pretty bitchin' new colander
Yeah.
Tell us more!
It's metal and electric blue
I have a bright pink one
Both of these colours seem a little obnoxious for colanders
Cant you just go with a drab grey, no?
mine is very obnoxious
It's also square and it unfolds into a kind of chopping board.
The logistics of this just blow my mind
it does not however go
"from a flat sheet to a sturdy colander in one easy movement" and in fact I sustained an injury where I took a chunk of flesh out of my, erm, midriff whilst trying to get it to clip together in a state of undress.
that fucking thing is a TAWDRY DEATHTRAP
i used to shut my hand in it constantly
it is indeed both tawdry
and *does lynn faulds wood skelly-eyed face/voice* a potential deathtrrrap.
http://i.imgur.com/au97EaK.png
exactly this except even meaner
here it is in green
I relaly wish I'd known it came in green before getting the pink- http://www.josephjoseph.com/colanders-and-strainers/folding-colander
gonna be a long day in t'office
so, my colleague that doesn't like me has been hiding my pay slips for the past few months
A 46 YEAR OLD MAN HAS BEEN HIDING MY STUFF.
I don't think I've done that since primary school. I'm almost list for words.
but there's Maryland cookies in the biscuit tin
*fist pump*
YOU NEED TO FIND A JOB NOT WITH CRAZY PEOPLE
6 months tops!
I can't wait to be shot of this place and its awful people.
how did you find out?
what has he said about it?
I haven't had a payslip in a while
I blamed the council for being useless, but this morning I was rummaging through some drawers looking for some scissors, and I found a pile of my payslips, including the most recent one. I texted a lad I work with that I actually like saying "what the fuck" and he aid my most recent one was out on the desk on Saturday SO the person who worked here on Saturday night must have put it in the drawers. I don't know for sure, but it makes sense.
I'm not going to say anything to him. A) I'm not going to give him the satisfaction B) I can't be arsed C) it's going to go in my dossier of terrible things he's done and will be sorry for.
surprisingly un-grumbly today
despite the hideous amount of work I have to do in the next four weeks.
ABSOLUTE DENIAL.
my weekend didn't really happen, I was either at work on the library. the highlight was probably listening to that new 13-minute Mark McGuire song through the huge speakers in the radio studio.
my oversleeping problem is getting worse
but after work I've got two games of footy to play so that should be nice.
it's just one o' those days
Where ya don't wanna wake up
next in line to get tucked up
(in)
I think that I should be more of a gentleman
befitting of my age
our email isn't working.
carte blanche to do bugger all. dont remind anyone i've got my email on my phone pls.
guten tag
Had a pretty good weekend. Went to the scottish deer centre! oh yeah! fed some deer, got slavoured on, saw a lynx, saw some wolves getting fed. 10/10 would deer again.
feeling pretty good this morning too. LETS DO THIS
where is the scottish deer centre, I want to go!
it's in deepest darkest fife
worth it though!
more info plz
http://www.tsdc.co.uk/
I'm off today and tomorrow as
I'm going to see Sigur Ros in Manchester.
Also got 2 spares if any of you Manchester people are interested.
Was supposed to have a really fun day of watching the football with a "friend" on Saturday
They never turned up though so went and got a KFC and sat in my bed crying the rest of the weekend.
Also spilled curry sauce down my sink for a laugh, wasnt worth it.
This time next week I'll have started my new job
It's in a new city which is very exciting. I currently have nowhere to live though, which is somewhat less exciting.
where bounce you movin hun?
Bristol
My job's in Bath but there's not much else there, which apparently doesn't stop it being a ridiculously expensive place to live.
Bristol's great
A nice estate agent there wouldn't let me rent the flat next door to that massive squat on Stoke's Croft because I wasn't local and didn't know what I was letting myself in for.
Lovely job.
Awwww my old stomping grounds
You can find a place in Bath, but it can be a bitch as the council have gone all fascist and clamped down on HMOs in certain areas to,prevent them becoming infested with students
But yeah, living in Bristol and commuting is definitely the best option
Bristol nightlife. I miss it so.
Yeah, the nightlife/life in general is why I'm moving there over Bath
Thinking Pearson Sound and Midland as my housewarming night out. Also, tried to formulate some fake outrage at the council clamping down on Homos in Bath because it sounds like HMOs but it's Monday and I couldn't articulate the joke. It would have been really funny though, trust me.
Niiiiiiice
It's just got such a nice vibe when you're out. People don't annoy you for some reason. I have a couple of great weekends coming up. Surgeon, ancient methods, empty set and untold followed by a Sunday party with Hieroglyphic Being and Jus Ed. and then I have illum sphere and faltydl next Saturday
That Surgeon night sounds ace
Take it it's going to be a bit more of a conventional Emptyset...set and not one of their arty theory Wire ones?
Hi, I had a very a nice weekend.
Got completely smashed on cheap booze in the RA bar on Friday night, on the walk through Mayfair I saw a young man smoking with one of those cigarette holders a la Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
On Saturday went to Dover and Bodiam castles. My friend got walloped in the face by a faulty door. Stopped off in Tunbridge Wells at an absolutely lovely pub called the Ragged Trousers then parked by Tower of London and went to Bodeans (which wasn't as good as it used to be), was too tired and full to do anything else so went home and watched Game of Thrones.
Sunday did nothing but watch the #NLD in the local and got pizza delivered during the match (from a place called Firezza, it was pretty damn good).
9/10
That's weird.
Yesterday I was saying that I want to take up smoking again so that I can have one of these.
Also - you were TOO FULL to come on Saturday? TOO FULL?
And tired.
NO EXCUSE
That was my last weekend in London as a LME! BOO. 9I am back down for Chintzy's birtdya on the 23rd, but my stuff will be in boxes and I will be sofasurfing.)
Oh boo-urns to that.
I will be in Ireland for chintzy's boat bash :(
alright, which one of you wankers was sat next to me on the coach yesterday?
Bayern Munich scarf, listening to Radiohead and then Editors for a bout 2 hours? Always fun listening to other people's music for 2 hours Noooooooooooooootttttttttttttttt!11!1
I've just tried a camel's mik chocolate
Fusty.
Camel's milk?
I don't know why this makes me feel a bit vommy.
yeah, I can't stop thinking about crusty udders now
not sure if you mean fusty
or have misspelled tasty
foosty
Hello.
I'm so so so so SO tired.
So tired.
would you say you were tired, then?
I would retort with a quip
but I'm too tired.
:(
somebody get this woman (delete as applicable):
1)Drugs
2)Coffee
3)Energy Drink
4)Pillow
1) I am off these because they are slowly killing me
2) I am off of this because it is slowly killing me
3) Ditto
4) Yes please. Milk no sugar x
I am so tired
So tired. Even though I got eight hours sleep! (which puts me on a weekend deficit of about only 7 hours.)
I actually managed to fall asleep
And then my cat decided that wasn't what it wanted. It took me about an hour to actually get up and remove her. And then I was awake FOR EVER.
HOWEVER!!!! I have just noticed that I have earned 76p interest!
I queued for seven and a half hours for the rain room on Friday
I am an idiot.
:D
jesus christ!
I know, I know
It was the third time we tried to see it and closed at the weekend so we arrived before it opened and were told it would be a 3 hour queue which, whilst obviously daft, was definitely doable but then after 3 hours we were told it would be another 3 hours minimum and by that time you've put in too much queue time to just give up. Absolute shambles.
The thing is only 6 people a time can see the sodding thing but there's no constraint on how long you can stay in it so some people would be in there for 5 minutes and others would spend an age in there without anyone ushering them through. The artist stipulated that there shouldn't be a time constraint apparently which is all well and good and lovely but given the queue that the policy generated they really should have done something about it because after waiting all that time it could have been Elvis boxing Tupac with the Lord Jesus Christ reffing it and I would have been pissed off and underwhelmed.
they really should have charged for it
even a few quid would've got rid of like 70% of that queue
no time constraint is some BS
Yea, it's bullshit
I think in many ways it's a victim of it's own popularity in that sense, it would have been legitimately a pretty cool thing to experience if it was a case of turning up and just wandering through, in those conditions I can see why the artist would want people to take their time with it etc but it's turned into this huge thing now and I'm pretty sure the artist didn't intend people to be experiencing it totally exhausted and pissed off after a 7 hour queue.
The fact it opened at 11 when the centre opens at 9 seems daft as well, it's fine to be taken aback by something being unexpectedly popular but the organisers have to be able to react to the demand as well.
That was definitely the main issue as well
It was so infuriating to see the disparity in length that the people at the front of the queue experienced before getting in. Some people would be in almost immediately when they got to the front and other times the queue literally didn't move for 45 minutes.
makes you wonder what people were doing in there
...

Christ almighty
ahahahahaha
Oh Ant
THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES!
ha i got there just before opening
and saw the queue, and was like... nah
Yea, you made the right call
It's our anniversary <3
So we're going to the London transport museum and I'm going to try to persuade Sam to buy me more macaroons in laduree.
i did my anniversary yesterday at London Zoo
totally worth it. I scared myself shitless in the Night Zone by the rat enclosure.
Nice
London zoo is okay but Colchester zoo is AMAZING. Go there. You get to go in this enclosure thing where there are loads of monkeys with tiny faces
In six month's time, she's gonna be one lucky gal
Was this one a 6 month anniversary?
yeah. we are only a fledgling couple
so it was a modest affair
How do non-married couples determine their anniversary date?
First kiss? First guff in front of each other?
they're not always mutually exclusive
:-|
Date of your first successful "are you my bf/gf now?" conversation
we decide such arbitrary divisions of time are ultimately pointless
Then go back to synchronizing our social calendars in decimal time.
We just pick a random day near the beginning of march as that was when we started seeing each other
Can't remember the actual date so just pick a day off or Saturday. It's not that important though. We just spend some time together and get a card.
I remember an open mic one february, I think, where you two were getting on VERY well! :D
Something about the wipe clean throne?
Aww yeah!
That was the one where (according to him) he patted the seat next to him and I scurried along, with a drink for him, and sat next to him. Hmm....
Awwww <3
I wasn't entirely aware unmarried couples celebrated anniversaries as such
Why not?
Some people don't get married ever so does that mean they have no right to mark how many years they've been together?
do you mark it as first kiss or first sex?
first kiss obvs
they're not married!
of course
wasn't sure if things were different or not down in that london
if i stay in london
i'm thinking about moving out to the burbs and just commuting into town when i have to. anyone got any recommends for nice, green bits of outer london?
the lake district
not generally considered outer london
i'd consider it though
It's shit in a lot of ways
But Clapham Common is legitimately great and I'm glad to live near it.
what's the rent like?
kinda just wanna live in a farmhouse or something
my thread on all the types of men won't post

I like this
It's a better way to write it.
Can we all start writing it like this now?
Hello? you there? HELLO?
fairly average weekend
had a few drinks, watched UFC on Fuel, listened to the Atoms For Peace album and worked on a essay based on the Gaia Hypothesis.
I have today off as sort of a delayed birthday present from work which is nice though.
Feeling more positive about life and shit in general.
Had a lovely lunch with my daughter on Saturday (spending Tesco vouchers in Pizza Express certainly relieves some of the financial strain). She helped me choose a wooly hat in Top Man.
Went to the north norfolk coast yesterday afternoon with some good friends, nice walk along the beach at Salthouse. Blew the cobwebs out.
Top weekend
Few beers in town on friday after work ended up at a mates works do and didn't pay for a drink all night. Went to the UAF rally and then into chorlton to watch the football on Saturday. Sunday nice trip out to Stalybridge to watch a bit of non league.
i've decided to revert to consistently optimistic, life is fine style cat_race
dunno how you lot manage with being so miserable all the time. everything's great :D
ifx
I've just remembered breaking the ceiling light
with my moves.
oh yes
And Mr Pester, the balloon hider. And my glowstick halo. I think i lost my black scarf.
there is now photographic evidence of the light breaking incident on facebook
(it wasn't me, although I am looking v guilty in the photo, albeit not as guilty as you. Personally, I think it was all fidel_catstro)/
