is a free holiday to madrid worth it?
yeah
i really enjoyed madrid
hwat did u do?
I would like to go there
But it seems a bit mental that the only place [in England] you can fly from to get to the capital city of Spain is London.
Probably not as good as Barcelona, I don't reckon.
Oh and if its free (probably get a cheap flight easy enough), of course its worth it
er what?
i flew liverpool to madrid
easyjet fly there from
gatwick
luton
bristol
liverpool
and edinburgh
Strange you can go from those places
But not Birmingham or Manchester.

CAT_RACE!
Madrid is nice. You'll have fun.
I've been to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. I'd rank those cities in the order I typed; Barcelona being the best. There's the "three big museums" to visit and the bars are great too. I went for three nights which was enough to have a look around the city and take it all in.
i went through in august and it was fucking hot.
nice bunch o city though.
yeah it's good.
Mediterranean cities are always the best in spring time.
Terrible, terrible place.*
I'd go back to whoever's offered you the place to stay and throw it back in their faces.
*I've been there for about 3 hours. It was pissing down with rain at the time. I may not be the most informed respondent here.
I really like Madrid
I much prefer it to Barcelona - it doesn't have the big list of must sees that Barcelona has (although it does have some), but in terms of friendliness and viiibe it is much nicer. Cheaper too. Also, Madrid is absolutely jam packed with bars and restaurants.
I went in September. Very very hot. March should be ok. I went to
Barcelona in February years ago and the temperature was fine. Oh, Madrid's tube network is great too from what I remember. I went in 2004 so you may want to go on a more current review than mine.
Went twice last year
Very easy to find delicious food and cheap beer.I loved bar hopping in Lavapies.
someone tell me where to go you fucks!

Eat here
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g187514-d987888-r138510534-Casa_Lastra-Madrid.html. Go for lunch, get the menu del dia.
Go to the big three galleries. Those are the main attractions IMO.
We ate at a bunch of places around the Calle Huertas, which were all good. The Jazz Bar on Calle Moratin is quite good but the drinks are unbelievable expensive. The Mercado de San Miguel is good for a wander and for snacks and sherry.
It' a good city for a few days. I probably prefer Barcelona, but if you like art then it's definitely worth going.
Watch your wallet. I got pickpocketed on the train from the airport.
i dont have a wallet
Madrid is the best
Fuck Barcelona. Madrid is cheaper, spanisher, and tastier, and more open all nighter.
El Lateral is some of the best value food I've ever had
