American Horror Story
The worst writing I have ever seen. I can normally watch to the end of something and vow never to watch it again (Sons Of Contradiction, 24, Heroes etc) but this is a really shit show.
The first series was such a let down at the end. In series 2, there isn't anything which is good.. apart from the actors, who do a good job with what they have been given.
Eurgh!

I really enjoyed the first series
So it was slightly hokey, but in a slightly knowing way (at least, I like to think so). Plus, I am a sucker for haunted house stuff.
Gave up halfway through the second series. Rubbish. Waste of a good cast too...
Both you guys are wrong
IMO
I thought both were great, well acting, strongly plotted, pretty scary in bits
The endings in both were a little weak, but it was excellent for the most part
I didn't watch season 1
but I loved Asylum. Gloriously tacky gonzo silliness. It was one of the few shows I was happy to wait a week for and watch as it was broadcast, waiting for the next lurch of crazy plotting. The camera work and score were awesome too.
that scary French song to calm the patients down was great
and the surreal Sister Jude dance routine.

:D
oh god
I loved the first series
and was quite into the second, but I have to say I've deleted the final 3 episodes of series 2 off my planner because I couldn't be bothered any more. I enjoy the ludicrous amounts of stuff that happens all at once, but the series feel a bit long to sustain it. Series 2 was just going on and on...
:-(
I really liked season 1, to me it clearly seemed like a tribute to horror films of the past and as a whole it worked really well even if it did get slightly over the top at points.
I like that it doesn't
take itself remotely seriously. Season 2 sure did drag but the finale was excellent.
first series was good
then fizzled out
ending was so dull
I was expecting a lot more from the end of series 2
And what happened to the girl who kept stabbing people with scissors?
The first series was great. There was enough there for a second
series set in that haunted house before a possible "reboot" that they did with the second series in the asylum. The asylum series was average; no real twists or a good plot. I watched it all nonetheless.
Lost or 24 or both have a lot to answer for
Jazz writing at its worst
We've got 3 or 4 episodes left to watch.
They are just sitting there cos we're never in the mood to watch them. I really enjoyed the first series but the second series is just unrelenting horrible thing after horrible thing happening and not much actual substance.
TBH I might've given up watching it if I didn't have such a crush on Evan Peters.
Hard to believe he is 26!
I agree with you on the first series I just felt like they let the rudder slip about 3 or 4 episodes from the end and it all unraveled very predictably.
I think Zachary Quinto has the kiss of death to any show/film.
There's just no plot in either.
It's just a succession of tropes with nothing to hold them together. The cast chew the scenery, but there's no tension or sense of purpose.
exactly!
