another phrase that makes no fucking sense
One King dies. He had a son, that son becomes King
though it also applies to rival Royal claims, civil war victories and possibly coups
It emphasises the continuity of the monarchy and therefore its permanence.
and thus in the same way hints at the futility and impermanence of the power of the individual
Would have been
- the king is dead, long live the queen
last time. Obvs.
but he's dead?
I didn't read this before replying
that's one that I don't understand
others are irked
I told you
that though the king is dead, fear not, there will ALWAYS be a king.
anyone know what that one means? Been overhearing people say it a bit recently.
the reason that it is voiced so is for stability.
Its like 'OK this king is dead' .....but dont worry, dont argue....dont fight over who has the power....because 'Look HERE....HERE is your new king" Who I am obviously recognising......as will the other people who will cheer there and then......(and thus hopefully put out of mind of others who covert the role for themselves or others.......its to try to immediately stifle any ideas of dissent and infighting for the power before it has a chance to grow.
