Slight aside- something was reported in the news recently that she said, and it really mande me take notice (not that I can recall it right now, of course) because it was the first time I had ever seen her say something vaguely empathetic and not stupid and/ or cuntish.
She was the Louise Mensch of her day.
within her own party.
bit of a dick
i'm not really bothered tho
why would you say that?
Dis isn't public in any REAL sense.
we haven't been representatives of our country
you're still laughing/amused at the idea of a person dying regardless of who you represent or who knows about it
but she has a responsibility to at least attempt not to be a twat. the Dis user cat_race can post all the nonsense he likes, it can be a bit annoying, but it's fine as there's no impact outside of this little corner of the internet. I'd be pretty bewildered if Obama started asking questions like "how is a tyre round?''
anyway, the audience isn't relevant. i'm here and i could get away with having a laugh about a dead cricketer if i wanted. but he's dead. and that's a sad thing. i'm not accusing you personally of any of this. i think i'm just better than edwina
i don't really care what she says, but It's understandable why saying something liek that gets jumped on
but i mean it would be bad if she said it in private as well. equally bad. maybe worse actually, as she has said it in public at least everyone knows she's a cunt
i never made that assumption though
there's something quite amusing in a Tom and Jerry kind-of way about someone entering a cockroach-eating / worm-eating competition and dying.
whereas there's something quite sad / tragic about a young man (and promising cricketer) dying, even though nobody would condone driving whilst drunk and high.
i doubt the darwin awards would have the gall to print some of their entries on the first day of the inquest of the person involved.
Running away from the police and getting fried/smacked by a train is a bit... Y'know, cartoon...
They go to investigate the problem and it blows their face off.
If that was a cartoon dog, everyone would be in stitches.
is this how everyone else feels?
Doofus in USA dying whilst trying to eat a shedload of worms: guilty LOLs
The hallmark of a great news story
but I dont find what she says so upsetting, I mean, ok if you loved the guy then it is insensitive.......BUT there is a degree of accuracy to what she said. He was out of his face and couldnt handle it, and due to this he got killed by todays environment......perhaps if this happened more often then you might find humans evolving to be able to take their drugs and hold them more.
i.e. its kind of true
Why does everyone hate edwina currie so much? out of all the tories I found her relatively OK
how have they not worked out this social media thing? it's not that hard - just don't say possibly offensive stuff
didn't even read the story.
I did briefly check to see if there was somewhere more respectable I could link to.
I don't really use twitter much - so, what happens in practice when someone posts something like this? In other words: what does a Twitter Storm consist of?
Err yes, it's not really a storm as such, more a bit of a chilly breeze.
Hey I'm no expert.
Everybody goes home satisfied that the world is safe for another day.
scornfully dismissing the idea of twitter or a Twitter storm, believing that thousands of people being upset at something doesn't really count as news.
These luddites are often the same people who whip up a campaign in a national newspaper to complain about something fairly trivial, like, I dunno, an offhand comment made by someone on the BBC about the royal family.
I'm confused. Who are we hating on here? I want in either way.
People who die stupidly
People who moan about things
Moany people who moan about other people moaning about things
Some, all, or none, of the above
be it in the press or television.
