Well do you? I bet some of you do?
it was this or a thread about pastry
It's probably not too late to dessert this thread and change your mind
you would want your wife or servants to read?
at the fringe last year I saw a guy pretending to be a tory MP, he dropped the N-Bomb and the only black person in the room (a lady) walked out. He wasn't very funny and I felt ashamed afterwards that I hadn't left too. Gave him about threppence I think
saw two 'tory mp' acts in 2011: a young guy calling himself Tory Tarquin or summats in the new town and the Rt Hon Dickie something in the old town. The former was piss poor (and compere-ing some even worse chancers). The latter was a decently funny guy.
that nobody ever gets offended themselves, only offended on behalf of others. Offence is a myth.
that your theory is bollocks
you're, say, white, straight, male... probs middle class?
But I might fancy the person who should have been offended, but didn't appear to be.
I'm certainly not someone who starts getting angry or offended based on a presumption of what people I've never met might think but I might get angry about, say, things that affect the people I teach or something like that.
cracks me up when people get offended at stuff they read in the paper/hear on the radio/read on the internet, mainly because it's just so easy to avoid, innit. if someone punches an old lady or something, or has a massive go at someone unexpectedly in public, sure, that's a bit different.
you can't be offended if it has nothing to do with you. you can recognize it as offensive but you're not literally offended, are you.
