between my alarms starting and me being able to get out of bed.
I am not a morning person.
do you drink/smoke much before bed?
I don't smoke or drink at any time
My alarm goes off at 6.42; I'm out of bed and downstairs by 6.45 at the latest.
Snooze button <<< extra proper sleep.
but that's when it's winter and dark outside. Now it's getting light when I wake up I'm fine, and soon enough I'll probably be able to manage on 6 hours sleep again, dunno why I'm so tied to the light outside, if I got better curtains I'd never wake up
We were in rooms for 5 people. One in the group set his alarm at 6.30 (we didn't need to be out until 9, so didn't really need to be up til about 8) and just kept snoozing it. For like an hour before anybody actually got out of bed.
Every 10 fucking minutes we had to listen to the first line of a shit Green Day song.
I LOVE DA SNOOZE
alarm goes off at 8:20, i'm showered and in work for 8:45, with a 5minute commute, #grimupnorth
but i wear it well
I'd be in at 9, so would set an alarm at 7.30, allowing plenty of time for a shower and some breakfast.
Would attempt getting out of bed, realise it was freezing, roll over and re-set the alarm for 8.45. Get up, throw clothes on, brush teeth and a quick wash and walk straight out the house.
plenty of time to get up, showered, dressed, brush teeth etc before leaving the house
obviously if i had a longer commute i'd get up earlier, but i can't see the logic in snoozing for hours, lulling yourself back into a deep sleep only to be awoken again repeatedly, sounds like fucking torture
but the morning version of myself is not to be reasoned with. I put my alarm clock at the other side of my room every night and the next morning I usually find myself cradling it and hammering the snooze button every five minutes.
You just get on with it.
the ones who are are usually turbo-chipper cunts about it too
enjoy sleeping in when can
but don't find it difficult to wake up for work?
Best time of the day. Often up at 6 on a Sunday.
To mid afternoon for some reason.
Everything else is fine, and its not as if I do nights 5 or 6 times a week, It's only on a Saturday and Sunday where I stay in bed til about 1pm.
like Friends or How I met Your Mother, the characters often hang out BEFORE WORK.
This simply can't be real.
The idea of me seeing even my best friend before about lunchtime on a work day is utterly abhorrent. I have no friends in the morning. If I have to go to work before my gf, or if she has a day off, I literally HATE her for a couple of hours.
theyl be sat at the coffee shop then one will go to work
never realised that
and THEN go to work.
So they have plenty of time to go and see their pals, have breakfast, and then go off to work.
Didn't think of that did you?
Where people actually sit down in their own homes and have breakfast before leaving for work, SOMETIMES EVEN READING A NEWSPAPER - never happens in real life. Surely.
I've got into the habit of sitting infront of Daybreak for about 15-20 minutes having a cup of tea. I don't know why I don't just wake up later.
with my parents as a schoolkid, dad reading the paper.....
i sit at my desk with my porridge for 10 minutes thesedays :(
yeah cheers pal thanks nice one
I just can't face the horrible moment of moving from a horizontal to vertical position. I need that bed out of wallace and gromit. That'd sort me.
I almost got up after half an hour of snoozing this morning, but then I was like, two more mins and then I opened my eyes and I'd had another half hour
I would just get straight up after that.
then I moved in with a boy who was a snoozer and my highly efficient system got turned on its head and now I will need to snooze/sex for about half an hour before I can actually consider leaving bed. I would reinstate the 'other side of the room' thing but my current room's quite small and all of the power points (where my phone/ alarm would be plugged in) are within easy reach of my bed. When I move in a couple of weeks I am going to reinstate THE OLD RULES for at least a few days a week, so that I will get up and I eman UP AND OUT OF BED within seconds of the alarm going off.
Cry me a river!
spread across two different locations
I usually wake up with all three in bed with me
When I was younger - As in until like my mid 20s I thought that everyone felt horrendous in the mornings and couldn't get out of bed.
Turns out there's loads of annoying morning cunts out there. You know, get out of bed at 7am without setting an alarm. Really productive at work before lunch. Urgh.
I'm convinced there are two types of people Morning / Night.
I'm a night person. I work best into the night. My concentration is better, I wake up at about 10pm, even if I've been up early.
SO FUCK OFF YOU MORNING WANKERS.
it's connected to my depression apparently, my insomnia then total inability to be awake when I need to be (See also: in meetings). I find it almost impossible to get out of bed in the mornings if i need to be
It was ace. Cheers.
