Easter Chocolate and Confectionery Thread 2013
WOO
Its almost Easter (is it?)
The shops are selling the eggs. Are we allowed to discuss the eggs and the stuffs now?
Things I've had so far:
- a fair few creme eggs (always good)
- a cadbury caramel egg (really nice)
- M&S foam bunnies and chicks (OMG 10/10 there. Raspberry foam bunnies and banana foam chicks)
- A ton of mini eggs
Things I've seen which I will get:
- Chocolate lollies in the shape of a fried egg (CUTE)
- more foam chicks and bunnies

too early
Come on.
Its not.
Valentines day is over. Its ready to get excited about the choccies.
no eggs are for easter morning
how do you like your eggs in the morning?
i like them to coincide with the remembrance of jesus's resurrection
It's fine
It's Lent, the countdown to Easter
Easter chocolate I've eaten so far this year
A handful of cadbury mini eggs
1 milky bar animal, can't remember whether it was
2 creme eggs
More malteaser bunnies than I care to count
Oh i forgot about those bunnies
Have you had the mini ones? they're good
yeah, they're not as mini as i thought they would be
but they're individually wrapped, which is good because it stops me from eating too many. Even though you only get five in a pack.
I wish they'd bring out an all year bar or something with the filling in. I think they might be my favourite chocolate thing.
i've given up chocolate for lent
I haven't yet decided what chocolate I'll be eating over the next 6 weeks
keep us posted
please
only of you make a specific thread about it
*if
ooh
you've done yourself there. great work
You don't have to decide
The options are wide open.
i'll have all of the chocolate please.
I've eaten so many mini eggs :(
I've already had to stop myself buying a couple of bags every time i go shopping. Think this is the time of year I put the most weight on, just too moreish
I get two Easter eggs every year
TWO. Imagine that. Every year. Don't even have to pay for them.
What kinds?
Chocolate
Nice.
I predict this thread will get boring
because people will start complaining about cheapo chocolate like they do about advent calendars. This really is quite a boring complaint, cheapo chocolate is just like fancy chocolate, but not as nice but that's ok coz it's still chocolate AND it's cheaper
I don't think cheap chocolate is ok.
There it is.
Expensive chocolate is generally a bit rank
Far too rich and/or bitter.
I like my chocolate cheap and sweet. Dairy Milk or Milka plz.
The fact that it's even lent seems to have passed me by this year
Mainly because on ash wednesday I was too busy drinking and rampaging about the fair city of edinburgh.
Wow, that means it's easter 5 weeks on sunday. I might get a creme egg icecream lolly from the postoffice when i go to buy my lottery ticket in a minute.
nt think ive ever been excited by easter
Okay NOW is it acceptable to talk about it?!

I REALLY love mini eggs.
Will you not be able to get some this year?
I eat chocolate every day without fail. Its unusual if I don't eat chocolate. I've eaten 3 different chocolate things already today and its only 11am.
My mother gave me a Kit Kat Chunky egg when I went to visit last month
It's been sitting on my shelf taunting me ever since.
Anyone ever had a giant Kinder egg?
They're my favourite Easter egg.
I always wanted one but never got one
Last year I got an amazing extra thick Hotel Chocolat egg. It had really boozy truffles in the middle. it was amazing.
That does sound amazing! I'm not sure which I'd prefer though...
Imagine a world with an egg that contained a giant toy AND boozy truffles. I'd want to go to there.
i haven't had any this year at all
I've been really good with saying away from chocolate so far this year.
I'm going to treat myself to one of these for Easter

Only went and bought two different boxes of salted caramel chocolates
at lunch didn't I. Might get a third on the way home.
I got given some Malteasers bunnies and a Mini Egg Easter Egg by my students yesterday.
Happy with that.
I WANT A FUCKING MINI EGGS EGG
ASDA's only seem to have Wispa ones though. Fuck that for a game.
They do have some very nice (and expensive) looking Thornton's eggs that are like lemon meringue flavour and stuff like that.
I was in Austria last week
Decided to try some Milka things that looked a tiny bit like mini eggs. Opened them to find that they were exactly the same as mini eggs, just under a different brand. True story.
You should sell the novel rights.
I'm holding out till someone wants to turn it into a 24 part American TV drama
was in marksies the other day dribbling over the chocolate in there.
still didn't buy any. i am a hero.
yeah just drop marksies in there like it ain't no thing
i definitely didn't do it with you in mind.
i'm baking these later, hopefully with resounding success..
cant wait..

Have you seen the Walnut Whip style Easter eggs - how disappointing! It looks like it should be full of whip, but it contains 4 samll walnut whips!
I can't believe there wasn't someone in that meeting to say 'NO!'.
Why the feck couldn't they just fill it with whip? Why is that so hard? And if it is hard, why pick the walnut whip to turn into an easter egg? There isn't a person in the world who won't be expecting whip...
*M&S
Sounds like the big Lindt eggs we had at work [Asda] for Christmas
It was fairly obvious to most that it was a plastic egg filled with the little Lindt balls.
A surprising number of people (i.e, more than 0) asked/thought it was just one massive Lindt chocolate :/
When I was a child I thought the creme egg Easter eggs were a massive creme egg
You know why they call them 'whips' don't you?
if you were in that meeting...
and the pigs-pork connection popped into your head, would you mention it?
