HTC internet help please!
Hi,
My friend gave me his old HTC and I paid for it to be unlocked last night but I can't get the internet to work :(
I have gone into settings and turned mobile internet and wifi on but nothing will load.
Please help! I paid £8 so I could facebook and twitter and look at sexy people every now and again to make the day go faster but now I can't do anything!

well have you tried connecting to a mobile network?
you need to find one and enter the key.
sorry I meant wifi network
Do you pay for mobile network on your plan or whatever
Tell you what, pretend I just made some shit joke or flippant comment - I suck at being helpful
Box of rice
Put the phone in it.
If your sim card is really old it may well not be a 3G one.
Sim card was only bought last year
hmm. What exact model is it?
Does texting / calling work?
and is mobile data included in your contract or whatever?
Well duh ;)
I had this issue
With being given a HTC (from Vodaphone) and having an Orange contract. If you ring whoever your contract is with they should be able to tell you what to do. I remember it being a fairly simple change to the settings.
What network you on?
t-mobile
now EE I think
menu, settings, wireless and networks, scroll down to mobile networks, access point names
Google for the details you have to stick in there for your network.
Try changing the preferred network mode
under the mobile network settings.
Mine's GSM / WDCA auto (or something like that). I have a feeling you need to fiddle with that sometimes.
this
changed from vodafone to an o2 piggy backing network when i had an htc desire, and that's the info you needed to change.
I've tried to do that but when I go into 'Access Point Names'
its just a blank black screen, there's nowhere/way of me putting any information in there.
Oh wait
Just worked it out.
Googling 'access point names for EE' now
ARGH
My work internet is blocking all the links I'm trying to click on.
I would be very, very grateful if someone could google for me and send me the info via pm or in this thread, please?
Try this
Name = Internet
APN = everywhere (case sensitive)
Proxy = Leave Blank
Port = Leave Blank
Username = eesecure
Password = secure
Server = Leave Blank
MMSC = Leave Blank
MMS proxy = Leave Blank
MMS port = Leave Blank
MCC = 234
MNC = 30
Authentication type = PAP
APN type = default
APN protocol = IPv4
Bearer = Unspecified
Actually that might not work
Go here and they'll text you the settings http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=SOFTWAREDOWNLOADS&tab=1
Where am I going on there?
The bottom bit?
Why wouldn't the above work? (I was just about to try it...)
thanks btw!
Oh, click on the phone settings tab and there's a box there.
